two excellent websites about the alledged 'Lunar effect':

http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a2_337.html

http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/moon.html

BTW: I formerly worked for ten years in a Library, and yes, I do remember some strange questions... I do admit to more then once going to check a calender to see what the moon phase was. Another job I had was a hotel 'Loss Prevention' officer (read:Security)-- I used to threaten to take all my vacation days when Full Moons occurred....LOL

Moon cycles affect the balance of ions in the atmosphere. Full moons influence the ionosphere and bring more positive ions to the earth’s surface. When these positive ions mix with those on the earth’s surface that are more negatively charged, it actually results in changes to our bloodstream.

Blood cells usually hold a negative charge, and so do the walls of our veins and arteries. Similar charge makes for easier flow. But when the moon is full, the ions in our blood become more positive and the flow gets “stickier.” The result is poorer oxygenation and increased stress.

YEAH I KNOW ITS WIERD BUT TRUE!!

What to Do:

Several plants (asparagus ferns and pines, for example) emit lots of negative ions, so being around these will help you to feel balanced during times of the Full Moon.

If the moon can govern the tides it can also pull on brain chemicals making your mood change.

It is called selective memory. We only remember what we chose and don't remember what does not make any significance.
The other line at the market does not move any faster.
