What does it mean when a female friend 20y/o calls you every night just to say "Goodnight"? We have known each other for 6 months, and she has spent the night several times also, simply plutonicly. I am 40y/o, divorced, no kids. We have never gone out on a true date. It all started with her being beaten by her husband, soon to be ex. she called me and I went to pick her up and to move her out of the house. Ever since then we have talked as friends, then all of a sudden I am on vacation out of state and she calls me saying that she can't stand me being so far from her, that she misses me too. I am moving out of state this year, and she has asked if she could move with me. What is she really saying?

she is emotionally very attracted and attached to you, since you've always been her security blanket when she was going through her crisis. Since you've picked up the pieces for her, being there for her, she has grown extremly close to you and now being alone is very strange and distressing to her especially since she has gone through so much at only 20.
The attraction could be platonic, could be innocent fatherly role-model guardian type of thing or could be sexual/romantic. She herself is probably unsure too so maybe you could talk to her to probe further and find out what her real emotional needs are and what she honestly hope to come out of the both of you. Good luck!

duh!!! if you enjoy playing with fire, then hook it up cuz that is what is on the table. but, realize that you are the handyman, the one she turned to to take care of her. doesn't quite mean that she loves you to the point that she wants to be serious with you, just that you are the problem solver. if you can handle that set up, then by all means, be her knight in shining armor. if you want to be her boyfriend, let her know up front and make her realize that this is what you are perceiving. if she gets wierd and says that you are just a friend, play that card out, and just get her out of her bad situation, but dont put her in yours. be friends, only friends, and help her out, but leave it at that!!!!!
been there, and still am

oh dear... she is in love with you! :) she's trying to give you all the signals without so much as saying it directly. if you are keen, take it from here. do not overburden the woman with thoughts of whether you like her. a woman needs to be pampered and appreciated.

either she tinks of you as her dad (since you are double her age) or you likes you.. the only thing i know is that she has become dependent on you .. but it doesnt matters what is she trying to say but what you feel of her as?

She's saying two things - she sees you as a father figure, and, she has daddy-issues.
Beware.
