they find out I am a widow. I don't make a big deal out of it & I didn't kill my husband so what's the problem?

I am 37. I have been widowed since 1996. I am over him & have been for a long time. I just want a decent man who treats me the way he wants to be treated. I am beinging to think my standards are too high LOL!

Unfortunately its just a "spooky" subject....

To date a woman who's been married before is to deal with her ex husband on occassion.

But, with a widow.... its almost "is he watching me with "his" wife"

But - any man worth having will get over this aspect and love you for you and accept and love the past you have.

I am a widow too, so I know what you mean. I think they don't know what to say. Some are afraid that you are on the vulnerable side and will use them as a shoulder to cry on, or try to make them a replacement of your husband. Some men are just weird no matter what your situation is. My advice be careful there are lots of men who will take advantage of you and feed you pretty lies. Pray and ask God to send you a good man. That is what I did and he answered that prayer with a wonderful christian man that loves me very much and I love him too. When my husband died I dated one big loser out of loneliness. But then I prayed and got the man I have been dating now for 1 year and 3 months. Best of luck to you!

That's a good question now that I've read it. I had a friend last year tell me he wouldn't data a widow. When I asked him why, he said "because".

Me personally wouldn't have any issues with dating a widow

Depends on how old you are. It is unusual for a young person to be dead, so the news that your husband has passed away probably catches them by suprise.
