well that is a difficult spot you picked..isn't much fat cushion to protect your pain against the bone. I think it will hurt like hell but if you are determined you will need to find a way to keep breathing thru it and try to take a small item to put in your hand to play with to pull all your pain energy into something else. Its nice distraction to have. Try having gum in your mouth as well

It sounds like you have already made a decision as to what you are going to do. So what is it that you want, any time you get a tattoo it is going to cause pain. How do you prepare for pain, there is not really an acceptable answer for that other than the fact that if you know it will hurt than avoid doing it.; Especially if you have a choice it the matter. Otherwise just grit your teeth and bear with it since you have mad your choice.

I got an one inch Japanese character on each foot in October. My artist was literally holding my foot down with his forearm as he was inking it because it felt like a thousand little bee stings were happening all at once in one area. I'm no stranger to the pain of tattoos, I have 10- and this was by far the worst pain I have ever experienced. The only consolation was that they are so small, it was over in 15 minutes. But I love the end result, so it was worth it to me.

The tattoo parlour I used had a sign up saying if you have to ask about the pain then you don't really want a tattoo! I have to say none of mine were particularly painful. I only went in for one 2 weeks later I had 3 lol!

I have both my feet tatooed a celtic clover on 1 and a nautical star on the other...personally i didnt think that it hurt that badly. the most annoying thing for me was the cramp i got holding my foot at an odd angle for an extended period of time. Just keep in mind everyone's pain tolerance varied, however most small tatoos are over relatively quickly so you shouldnt need to worry much!

my sister in law has the exact same tattoo and... i make fun of her for having it but anyway. foot tattoos hurt a lot but the fact is that if you are getting a "tiny" tattoo on your foot it will probably only take about five minutes or so and the pain will be minimal. i have tattoos on my feet and each one took at least two hours to complete.

A lot of tattoo artists will NOT tattoo feet...or toes---so you may want to talk to your tattoo artist before you get your heart set (no pun intended, lol) on that location.
Also, all tattoos hurt--so if you aren't prepared for some pain--then maybe you just Henna your feet instead. http://www.earthhenna.com/

i think a tatoo on your foot would hurt because there is really no cushion, mainly bone. plus no one would really see it unless you wear sandals.
