Anyone else using a 1911 style duty weapon?

I am currently using a 1911 style weapon for my duty weapon and was wondering if there were other agencies out there with officers doing the same thing. If so, are you still using your factory mags or did you switch to a high end mag?

I am an Army Military Policeman and we use the M9 Baretta. It's an OK weapon though I would rather have it in a larger caliber. For the rats around the 'hood I have a single action Springfield V10 Ultra Compact in .45 ACP. It's a good weapon . My favorite pistol caliber is .45. Stops ******* pretty quick!!

Yes, I am permitted to carry a Kimber, Para, or Springfield as my duty weapon however I chose to go with a Sig. The following departments use 1911's from kimber

As for High cap mags, If they work then I would use them, 7 rounds is a pain to shoot qualifications with when they are time sensitive.

It boils down to how much is your life worth. I've been using Wilson Combat mags in my 1911 since they seam to be the best out there from everything I've read. I've never had a FTF except for when I try to use the 10 round mag.

My primary duty sidearm is a Sig P-220. However my off-duty carry is a 1911. Love the way it handles. Are there more sophisticated guns out there? Of course. To each his own.

i love the colt 1911 models, just for fun though, for some reason, i cannot get accurate shots on target with the 1911 series... but almost anything else i can do fine in.
