I am an atheist and I understand that science hurts your heads, and it is too confusing and boring for you.

I'm an Atheist, but I'll only speak for me and from my experiences. I'm not into science nor have I ever been. I only go based on how the majority of christians acted that I went to church with. I received the blunt of backstabbing, gossip, lies, etc. I am and have been a very nice person. I don't understand how there could be a god when people go around acting this way and yet you are supposed to be all of god's children. Getting out of church was the best thing that I could do for myself and my sanity.

I was going to say, "They don't owe you to understand. It is your responsibility to convince them if you want them to understand."
Then I saw the second line. An atheist or atheist supporter (neither a problem in itself), had decided that they had to:
1) pretend to be someone who is not atheist or atheist supporter (lie)
2) try to prove a group that is not atheist or atheist supporting is "stupid" by pretending that they, the poster of this question is stupid (very poor reasoning, as well as some of the sloppiest rhetorical methodology used on Yahoo! or elsewhere)
3) avoid any kind of point except to insult another group of people for their own imaginary self-aggrandizement without educating anyone about anything.
To answer your question:
A) Many atheists do understand and respect religion for the good qualities it has rather than feeling the need to destroy other people's beliefs. They feel the burden of proof is on the believer, but don't need to tear down someone else to feed their own ego. They are simply secure in their own belief system (God does not exist), and see no reason to change it.
2) Science does bother people of religion, but it seems to be a stumbling block for a lot of religion haters. They don't seem to realize that scientific method and science accepts as basic parts of the methodology that, a) facts can be proven false and should be if they are false, so our knowledge keeps changing as we discover more, and, b) that God cannot be disproven, any more than unicorns can, due to the lack of exhaustive access to all aspects of reality. You cannot prove the absences of something except within limited conditions.
That makes the insistance that "God does not exist" a belief, not a fact.
Now, that's not proof of existance for God.
But it sure puts atheists who play such games in a whole new light.
Interesting enough, it was a very wise atheist who pointed this out to me, a non-religious man who had experienced God directly and knows from personal experience (not proof for anyone else, of course) that God exists.
Don't do this sort of nonsense. Most atheists have no interest in religion bashing, but more important,...
...they aren't needy enough to act like playground bullies and "tease" others to feel they've made their point.
Take a logic class. We'll all enjoy your posts for content rather than just being a curiosity.
Keep speaking up, regardless of whether you take the advice.
Free speech (including freedom to worship as you choose) is a U.S. American right. I love it.

Although I am not an atheist I know a number of atheists. It gets really, really old when dumb fundies whale on atheists without taking the time know what atheism is. No, it not the evil work of the dread Satan or the Antichrist *shudder*. It is freedom from faith in what may or may not exist.
The fundies will get a surprise when they get to Hebbin and meet God and discover that he is not Yahweh but Zeus, and the dude who is the real Son of God is the Lord Krishna.

Then don't pretend to understand it or think you can disprove it if you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Leave science to the smart people and go get a job pumping gas or something.

Atheism I find to be a fairly interesting double-edged concept. I find it very interesting that Atheists tend to be offended by God, or the concept of God, and yet by definition are supposed to be believing that said God does not exist. Believe [or lack thereof] what you want, but i'm at least picking sides with a fairly rational concept [ie. - God, Alpha & Omega, Almighty, etc.]...but then again - that's just me!

lol. Then you have no one to blame but yourselves because the Atheists aren't confused, bored, and it doesn't hurt our heads.
Proof is a good thing. I can't imagine existing the way Christians do. Its the stuff of nightmares.
