I have a 5 yr old. He's bad sometimes, but he admits his own doing, or he'll blame them on his brother or sisters. Take it seriously, get him to the pediatrician ASAP and some help for him. If he's just messing around, great, but if he's schizophrenic, bipolar, or something else is wrong you should find out now and get him the help he needs. Never take a mental illness or signs of one lightly. Care and love him. Be there for him, and support him.
They don't have any cures for mental illness, and if they want to medicate him, research the meds first. There are lots of medications out there, you may have to find the right one for your son.
I wish you and your son the best. If you ever need to talk email me.

Hearing voices as well as many other things such as, halucinations, compulsions are all signs of bipolar as well. If your child is honest and not trying to 'get away' with something, I would be very concerned and take them to a pediatrician right away. They would be able to recommend where to go from there. My sister was recently diagnosed with bipolar and signs that something wasn't right were there for years, her life could've been so much better had she been properly treated earlier.

He might have schizophrenia. I would advise you take him to a childrens counselor and have him evaluated. If you catch it at an early stage, you can get him on medication to prevent any harm from occuring. Here are some websites that may help with any other possibilities. Good luck.

I would talk to the child's doctor and have them refer you to a child psychiatrist to make sure that there are not any psychological problems. It could just be a way the child has found to get attention but it wouldn't hurt to make sure it's not something more.

AT THAT AGE THEY WILL MAKEUP EXCUSES TO BEING WITH BAD BEHAVIOR. ITS PROBABLY A PHASE HES GOING THROUGH. TELL HIM THAT THAT'S THE OLE DEVIL TELLING HIM THOSE THINGS TO DO, SEE IF TELLING HIM THAT HE IS CHILD OF GOD AND THEY DONT PAY ATTENTION TO THE DEVIL, HE IS A LITTLE ANGEL AND HE CANT FIGHT THE DEVIL OFF BY BRING A GOOD KID. IT JUST TAKES A LITTLE REVERSE THINKING ON YOUR BEHALF TO OVER COME THIS PHASE DONT WORRY. MAKE HIM A BEHAVIOR CHART THAT WHEN HE IS BEING GOOD LIKE DOING SIMPLE CHORES HIS AGE DOES- PUT A STICKER ON THE CHART BY THE CHORE OR GOOD THING HAS DONE, AT THE END OF THE WEEK GIVE HIM A REWARD FOR HIS GOOD BEHAVIORS. I BET IT WILL WORK!! AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING BAD IS A STICKER TAKEN AWAY. GOOD LUCK!!!!
I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS 5 YR OLD STAGE TWICE 2 GIRLS I KNOW THE FEELING.

Tell him to listen to them or they will pull him throught the portal under his bed back to their dimension where they will make him listen to Barry White and perform unneeded surgeries on his brain.
