Well, first of all, is this new or have you always had a period in the day where you feel a "slump time?" If it is new - then it is time to go see your doctor for a physical - there are a number of health reasons that can cause fatigue.
The best way to increase energy (as strange as this sounds) is to consume energy. Exercise is the most important thing you can do - it will increase your energy levels significantly.
Take a good look at your diet. There are many foods that provide short term energy - but then result in a bit of a "crash". These foods are things like: sugar, cola, junk food, candy, etc. Try eating lots of vegetables and fruit, as well as protein to increase your stamina over the period of the day.

Here are a number of ideas:
1. Look at what kind of bed you sleep on. You want the most restorative sleep possible so if your mattress sucks, this could be a problem. Look into getting a good mattress such as tempurpedic.
2. Eat a handful of nuts as a snack. The combined good fat and protein will not wear you down like other snacks such as chips and other carbs. The ad on TV for Emerald Nuts is correct.
3. Do some kind of stretching or yoga to get your blood circulating.
4. Have a couple of ice cold glasses of water.
5. Is your job boring you to death?
6. Naps are good. If you can get an afternoon nap, then take it.
I hear lots of people complain about getting tired. I think we a society get up too early in the morning and this is a major cause of this.

I would take a good vitamin and mineral suppliment. Make sure you aren't low in iron, B vitamins or maybe even in hormones like testosterone or DHEA. I do DHEA cream because I feel it makes me more energetic, I do female bioidentical hormone cream because I am getting old and it makes me feel better and my labido has improved. So, sometimes you have to take steps to help yourself and try what you think it is. Dr's are great but they don't do it all. Good luck. Also, eat a well balanced healthy diet.
