Why does guns exist. Life isn't fair with them. Users what do you think about gun use by people besides police

People have been shot and killed by these weapons, i think the police should be armed with guns. Not others like gang members, or threateners. I Mean guns could turn a world upside down and reach tragedy. Users what

FYI: I know it is an inanimate object, but what I'm concerned is how people kill innocent people with these guns. That's why I said the FBI, the SWAT team, and police officers.

It is impossible to keep the guns out of criminals hands because we can't even keep people for coming over our borders, how could we stop smuggling weapons. If you outlaw guns then the only people that will have them would be law enforcement and the criminals. The more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens, the lower the violent crime rate. Just look at states that have stricter gun laws...they all have higher crime rates.

Okay John so not now you get your way and guns don't exist. Now I'm a lot bigger than you are and I want what you have. I'm just going to beat you and take it, and beat your family as well. There are no equalizers out there, there is only the the advantage of numbers and size. So no matter what morals, ethics or standards are out there, the only ones that now matter are those of the biggest thugs and the gangs with the most members.

Other countries such as England have tried the gun ban thing and guess what? The only thing it did was to take guns away from the law abiding and left them defenseless to the criminals that don't obey the law. Crime has done nothing but go up and up since they disarmed the general population. Even one of strongest supporters of England's gun ban came out just this week and admitted that the gun ban was a total failure.

Banning guns is not the answer. Leaving the law abiding defenseless is not going to make their lives better.

Bringing up children to respect the sanctity of human life has a much higher chance of success than any gun ban.

Guns I believe should be used by the police and the military, gangs and other such criminals should not have them, but in this day and age guns would have to be used as a self defense device. In a world where guns rule being unarmed is like "bringing a knife to a gun fight" you're pretty much screwed. My husband who also is in the military is issued with a gun license as well as a rifles and wishes for me to have a gun also because I am not a large woman and work in a dangerous area. This goes to show what our world has come to, though I guess when there were no guns everyone had knives and swords, guns are just an improvement.

Well do innerantly we are selfish people. Since we are unable to have things our own way the last resort are guns. I would gladly pick up a gun and shoot those who would want to take over my government and change my priviledges in this country. But really if you eliminated guns then the bad people would still have them and then you would be dead or subject to many Hitlers in your life. Back to the wild wild west. Just remember the only reason we are not British owned is because the general population at that time owned several guns. Therefor we won the war and have the USA. Also Hitler's one act that gave him complete control over the nation was he banned everyone from having their own guns and only the military and police had guns. Would you like to have this option here?

Well, unless everyone who wants the protection can have an armed police officer at there home at all times when they're home, a civilian should have the right to have that protection for themselves. Plus, if they were to be outlawed they'll still be in the hands of criminals, leaving the rest of us more vulnerable to their harm.

I know many people who own guns and they aren't "gang member or threateners". Each has there own reasons, a couple for protection and others for recreational purposes like hunting.

Guns have been around for hundreds of years and the world's not upside down and tragic yet. I presume that nukes are more appropriate for doing that.

If you don't like guns, down buy, own, or shoot one. But don't expect me to give up my right to own one because others can't use them responsibly.

Let me get this straight.
You mean to tell me that if I lay a gun down on the table and back away, the gun will jump up under its own power and kill someone. I think not. A gun is an inanimate object. GUNS DO NOT KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE.

Gun ownership by private individuals is a right guaranteed by the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution. The real enemies are those politicians who try to take our freedoms one by one.
What would the founding fathers do if they were resurrected today? I shudder to think.

if the victim had a gun they would be less likely be a victim and how would you protect yourself if you or anybody didn't have a gun people could just make a gun themselves John Browning made his first gun when he was a teenager out of scrap metal and are they going to ban cars to how many innocent people been killed in car crashes and as a ex firefighter i have been to hundreds of car crashes i have only been to one shooting and that was a suicide and i would rather have more firepower than your average bad guy i feel much safer with guns than without them and i carry a gun concealed legally bad guys dont care about the law that why they are bad guys

Police are crazy. Everyone needs a gun to defend themselves, sometimes against the police. Especially true in the USA, where the police have been used and infiltrated by killers whose aim has been to murder African Americans, with some success.

More guns, not less, is the answer. Issue hollow point bullets too, a near miss is not a miss. It also stops the whining of the punks with flesh wounds...

John, in the first place the guns owned by gang members or threateners are not legal ones...so its not like they are "allowed to use them"....they're using them illegally........
and as for weather civilians shud be allowed to own them,i think they should'nt. Coz, only if u own 1 can u use 1.besides, its not like there is an alien invasion that we all need to run around with a weapon...

My Uncle is a convicted felon and he has an arsenal. He uses guns for protection and hunting. Same with most everybody else. Some people also target shoot or just like to collect them as a hobby. However, there are some that misuse the weapon. It's unfortunate but outright banning guns is a waste of time and wouldn't work anyway.
