Spyders by definition are pretty much all beginner/entry level paintball guns. To decide which spyder to buy, you basically need to decide how much money you want to spend and how fast you want it to fire. A mechanical marker, for example a Spyder Xtra, is cheaper, and fine for most beginners. A marker with an electric board, for example a Spyder Image, has a higher max BPS (balls per second) and is capable of full automatic fire, however costs a little more. I recently bought some new equipment and could sell you my used Imagine equipment for a good price if you would like. Send me a message if interested, supershibbydude@yahoo.com.

The Ion is NOT a beginner gun. Stay away from it. Most of the Spyder packages you find at Wal-Mart are good beginner guns.

it all depands on how much money you want to spend. the 1 thing i really like about spiders is that they are easy to clean and maintian and are very upgradeable. yah if i could get any of them it would be the VS3. i know it is the most expaesive but very nice. but for a beginner i would get the spyder sonix. i have bought 2 of these for gifts and they are pretty good.

Even though it is $200, get the Smart Parts Ion. It is arguably the best gun ever for the money, and it will give you the feeling of walking the trigger early, which will definetely help you in the long run. Save up money, and get an Ion with a nitro tank. It is worth it and it will perform close to other high end guns.
