I'm formatting my numbered headings but the chapter 2 the heading 2 continues with the chapter 1 numbering.

Example:

Chapter 1
1. heading 1
1.1 heading 2

Chapter 2
2. heading one
1.2 heading 2 (it's "1.2", but I want "2.1")

How do I fix this?

You need to click on the first heading for chapter two and tell it set the heading to include the chapter number or "start at..."
