Actually, if your body can tolerate it, plain old generic aspirin is the best reliever for a basic headache. Any over-the-counter generic, such as Ibuprofen (Motrin), Naproxyn (Naprosyn), Acetomenophen (Tylenol), Aleve, Ansaid will all do basically the same job. Whatever works best for your body is the best for you. More important is to find out why you have headaches. If it's just a rare or very occasional thing, it could be something as basic as muscle tension, stress or anxiety, sinus congestion, extremely dry air, allergies, etc. Headache is a very non-specific symptom and can be related to literally hundreds of medical, environmental, and/or psychological illnesses. Even things as seemingly unrelated as a bad tooth, a bite mis-alignment, facial trauma, deviated septum, sinus infections, dental infections, eye or ear infections can all cause headaches. So can bad eyesight, even bad hearing or an incorrect prescription for corrective lenses or hearing devices. Thyroid disorders, diabetes, adrenal disorders, other "glandular" disorders can often present with headache. Flu, colds, pneumonia, food poisoning, exposures to toxins (household cleaning agents, sprays, perfumes, scented soaps, paint, paint thinner, solvents, hair spray, deodorants, cosmetics, smog, air pollution, heavy metals), loud music or TV, straining your eyes reading computer screens or reading books, dry eyes can all cause headaches. Infectious illnesses like HIV, hepatitis, other bacterial or viral infections, TB, urinary tract infections, menstruation, sexual activity can all present with headache. Other serious causes could be masses (benign or malignant), aneurysms in arteries, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, high or low blood sugar, simple hunger or thirst, dehydration, sun stroke, heat exhaustion, arterio-venous malformations in the brain (potential areas for massive strokes), strokes, TIAs (what some people call "light strokes), vitamin deficiencies, other nutritional problems, obesity (in some people) can all cause headaches. Using street drugs or drinking can cause headache, as can withdrawal. Nearly every medication, whether prescription or over-the-counter, even herbal or "natural" remedies can have headache as a side effect. Spinal problems, disc compressions in your spine, neurological disorders can cause various types of headaches. Exposure to bright lights, too much noise, abrupt changes in temperature or barometric pressure, eating too much ice cream or cold liquids too fast, depression, mania, anxiety or panic attacks, situational stress, test anxiety, can all cause headache.
So, while there are a multitude of prescription, OTC and "natural" treatments for headache, until you know its cause, it's basically guess work to treat it. If this is becoming a more frequent or intense problem for you, please see your doctor as soon as possible. It could literally be a potentially life-threatening issue. Good luck.
