1 John 2:15-17 "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."

The Greek word for "world" implies the world system. That refers to the worldly things displeasing to God. Jesus in John 17:14-15 -said... 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. James 4:4 reads...Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
And the Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 12:2 - And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
But as far as the people in the world, we are to love them as God loved us (John 3:16) - "For God so loved the world."

Lets sort of rephrase it - perhaps it will help: Do love things of Heaven. If anyone love things of Heaven then the love of the Father is in him.

When God created Earth, it was good but we came along and tainted it. God doesnt want us to love things that are from that "tainted world" - The tainting didnt come from Him but from our sinful ways.

Also keep in mind, John 3:16.

Jesus knows how easy it is to get caught up in the pleasures of the world and then close our senses to God's larger reality of love and service to others even when it means giving up worldly possessions. Jesus also new that the world is God's creation and therefore is good. It is just learning about balance. That's all.

We should always be aware that our God is a very jealous God. It is OK to have everything but don't love them too much because in my opinion they are being used by demons in order to separate us from the God a vast distance. For example, you became top 1 in your classroom it might urge you to love that position more and even use Sunday for studying purposes than to go in a church and worship. God want us to be happy but we must always put this things into a moderate manner. God bless.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. -Romans 12:9

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. -2 Corinthians 10:5

Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. -James 4:4

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. -1 Corinthians 10:21

Don't worry about the world, don't pay attention to the world, for it does not pertain to you. Stay focused on your land, your religion and your worries.

when man veered from those wise words....is when the time clock for Revelation was started. That is why man older men claim the day of international trading was the doom of man kind.

To love this world or anything in it is to love money, rape, sex, pedophiliers, thieves, kidnappers, murders, terrorists, etc. These are different types of desires among mankind. You cant love any of these things and love God too. Its simply not possible.

Thankfully though, this world is passing away.

He's talking about material possessions. Our natural world is beautiful and divine. If you would look into the eye of god, look no further than a gentle breeze across an alpine lake.
