There is some beautiful countryside and places of historical interest like Stonehenge. There are Castles and Roman Baths still around. London is an amazing city with everything to do there, food from every nation and theatre, amazing venues for live concerts (inside and out), markets, history, great pubs with great beer and something called 'atmosphere' (look it up in the dictionary)
There are other great cities in England other than London like Liverpool and Lancaster. Liverpool is home of The Beatles and is a great city with two huge soccer teams within walking distance of one another.
As you travel only an hour or so you will notice the accents and dialects changing. Every city in England is very different from one another and you should notice how people are different (levels of friendliness and such like) and how different ideas and attitudes change as you explore the country.
There is such huge diversity in England and there are immigrants from many nations resulting in diverse cuisine and exposure to other cultures.
England has great public transport and you can get to Scotland and Wales in a few hours. Its a 45min flight to Ireland as it is to Switzerland.
Without leaving the country there are beautiful places like the Lake District, Oxford and the West Country is beautiful with places like Exeter and seaside towns like Torquay.
The London Underground is great and trains come every three minutes during peak times.
There is the Eurotunnel which can be taken from Waterloo station which connects under the channel to France.
They are a few things from the top of my head. Now I am getting home sick so I must stop.
