I do not know where you are based.
The closest International Airport to Salisbury is Southampton but that only serves a limited ranges of destinations in Europe.
Otherwise, if flying in from the Americas the soundest advice has been given by your first response. From Gatwick the train ticket will set you back a fair amount though, around £30 each way (I am not sure if you will be able to buy a return ticket, it depends how long you will be in Salisbury). From Heathrow I think there is also a coach service, if not to Sailsbury to Southampton, with National Express. This will be cheaper and due to the location of Heathrow probably as quick as the train all the way.
Another alternative is Bristol International Airport which does serve increasing numbers of destinations. There is a direct train from Bristol to Salisbury and it is not much different to the journey from London (and certainly quieter). It also affords the opportunity to drop in on Bath.
In all cases there is always the car hire possibility, if you have to use a London Airport and want to hire a car I would go for Heathrow as it is quite easy to head in the right direction from there.
Good luck

No. You need to fly into either Heathrow or Gatwick, take the train to Clapham Junction and change to the train to Salisbury. It's really easy.
