Not endangered, but protected as he's most likely a man in a gorilla suit. Don't take this shot.

Is he real?
Well stranger things have happened.
Animals can go un-noticed even in areas where substantial numbers of people go.
I live in Northeast Arkansas. In the 1970's the Arkansas Game and Fish Commision imported American Alligators into the St. Francis and Cache Rivers in this area in hopes of controlling a growing beaver population. The 'gators, fled deep into the swamps, where, (according to AGFC biologists), they perished due to being unable to survive the cold winters here.
Untill a few years ago.
Alligators began showing up in local fishing ponds. Small aligators, in th 3 to 5 foot range.
Then, "the Big One"...
An original tagged 'gator from the 1970's release was found dead in the Cache river.
It was 15 feet long.
When it was released, it was under 2 feet.
No one had seen or heard of any of these gators for decades.
Science, stated plainly that they all had died.
They didn't. They thrived. They bred.
All within a few miles of populated areas.
Invisibly. Silently. Secretively.
Just like Bigfoot may exist somewhere to the chargrin of "Experts" everywhere who publically state the contrary.
Someone could walk up on a corpse tomorrow.
One could be hit by a car tomorrow.
One could wander into a town, tomorrow.
ANd wouldn't THAT rattle a few cages!

I don't believe Sasquatch is on the endangered species list, as he has not be proven to exist, but in some places he is protected.

Have you ever seen any?
Then they must be endangered.
If he can out run my 308 he’s safe, if not he’s not endangered he’s extinct!
And so go the yeti, abominable snow man and aliens.
Any more questions?

That the way I see it.

And how in the h e l l do you know it’s not a she did you raise it’s skirt and check?

Why not ask the yeti, I'm sure he would know, or maybe ask the Loch Ness monster, he might know too, just don't ask any aliens from the UFO's, they have no idea what's going on, what with all the cattle mutilations and anal probing they do.

Ask the blind man. He told the deaf/mute that he saw one while caning his way up the Alps to visit his friend, the Old Man of the Mountain.

He's not real, but has been designated as a "protected species" anyway. (Makes you wonder doesn't it?)
