what kind of rolled ta even that close to the border, there is good mexican food & white people mexican food. i preferred anything with a -berto's. alberto's, roberto's... i loved LOVED los chavos, but it's not there anymore (so depressing visiting and finding it gone!). berto's are usually about $2.50. Lolita's is very good (one in bonita and one on telegraph canyon rd.). maria bonita's (honestly, i don't remember what street, but it's in chula vista) and taco's el gordo by the trolly on E street are also very good and cheap. my husband's absolutely favorite place to go for about 20 years was a hole in the wall place in san ysidro. you take the last exit before it goes on to the 5 (after beyer... for some reason i can't remember the name of the street, and the place changes names all the time). it's close to southwestern cc's extension campus. cheap, good, and I never got food poisoning from there (and even with getting it, my husband still swears by it)

Sombrero's, I think it's like $2.50. Also try Aiberto's in North Park. I think it's less than $3
