sleeping bag, maybe a tent, wire to roast wieners or marshmellows, maybe a propane stove, possibly a lantern (propane or electric) but definately a flashlight, maybe a perculating coffee pot, How about some cast iron cookware?, a simple mess kit, an ice chest?, water jug, might want a small first aid kit around, some folding chairs? an air mattress? firestarters, a screen tent, a back pack? Depends on whereyou want to camp and how you will get the there and how long a stay. Will you have to carry it all on your back or will it arrive in your auto?
All you need to camp is a blanket. Anything else is gravy. A campfire at night is nice. Pillows are good and an air mattresses a blessing.

Warm weather - deet bug spray.
Cold weather - peppermint shnaps in a flask.
