I'm a philosophy major and recovering christian so stop reading right now if that bothers you... I don't think any kind of EVENT should cause you to reevaluate your Christianity, you should be doing that on your own everyday. It is very wrong to believe something blindly if you haven't evaluated your stance. Just, think about what kind of person you are, and picture yourself growing up in some other region, say in a region that supported Al Quedia or had parents who were in a cult... Do you honestly think that you would have the same beliefs that you have now? Of course not, you would be affected by what your exposed to (either in a negative or positive way). So how is that any different than how you grew up? What makes the ideas that you were taught and the things that you believe any different than those who were taught something different and believe THAT blindly? It is your responsibility to always remain objective and continually question and evaluate what you believe... Plato said, you're not entitled to your opinion unless you can keep it...
edit: Generalization warning... On a side note, how many people from other religions just go to christian churches to see what it is like? I would say quite a few... Now how many Christian's have you seen going to a worship or explored other faiths? Very few...

I walked a life of 28 yrs of being an atheist. A good atheist, good heart, took care of others, but still an atheist. Around 28 I started to question where I stood. At 30 I was shown 3 miracle signs from YHWH to prove he did exist. I began to believe but didn't do much more than that.
Then recently, like fall of last year.....I have just had this "mission" to learn as much as I can. And I can feel him pushing me, he has something in mind for me but not sure what. But since I do believe we are in the end days....then I must assume he is pushing me so I can be a soldier for him. And that I am, a soldier of YHWH.

By "your life as a Christian" one has to assume you are speaking only to Christians. Also, what recent events?

I did that about 4 years ago, and am no longer christian. It wasn't working for me anyway. I finally realized it's entirely possible to believe in God without being a christian at all. It makes more sense to pray directly to God, Jesus did.

There is no event that would cause me to do so. As for recent events, nothing that so much as ripples the waters of my faith. What did you have in mind??

What recent events. Nothing changes my faith in Christ except that grows each day.
