I'm not in cancun but I do babysit at the local hotels where I live (NY). I have been doing this since I was 15 (I am 23 now). At 1st parents were very cautious about having me watch their kids. But now that I'm older they are always wanting me. (even though there are numerous other sitters) I know the hotels around in order to babysit you must have experience and be at least 14 years old. you must also have cpr training.

I have 3 families that now have my direct number. So now they do not have to go through the hotel.

I have been to cancun but I haven't been to that particular hotel.

Honestly, I would try a few sitters out at home first and have the sitters be in a location she is not used to. My fear is that your 3 year old will be scared that you are in a new place and you are leaving her with a stranger. Testing how she reacts to strangers before you leave on vacation may help you decide if you even want to attempt to leave her with a hotel babysitter.

Maybe you can take her to someone's house she doesn't know and ask them if you can leave her there for two hours or more. If it goes well than maybe you want to pursue the hotel babysitter thing. If it doesn't go well then I wouldn't even consider it.

Can you afford to bring a teenager from home with you on vacation? Maybe someone your daughter already knows. This could make both of you feel more comfortable.

Personally for me, I wouldn't trust a hotel babysitter. This is a foreign country and you don't know their standards for background checks and what they allow.
