I got 1 free 12 coffee maker. Brewing and it stinks awful like plastic. I called them and they sent me out a new one. Now, this one smells too. I love their coffee, just not their coffee makers. Any one else have this problem?

I had one of their coffee makers a while back... key word, had. Yes, mine had that odor to it as well, and it also died very quickly, but their coffee is great!

I'm still using mine. I got it when I was dating my ex-wife. The coffee maker has lasted longer than the marriage did! I don't remember any strange odor when I got it, but it was a long time ago. It is usually considered a good idea to run vinegar through any coffee maker once in a while to clean them out, and remove any scale that may have built up in them. Vinegar works, and I think there are some scale/lime removers on the market that work.

when you first get the coffee maker run a cleaning cycle the first time, of just hot water. I've never had this problem, and I've had 3 coffee makers through them.

We used their free coffee makers longer than any we paid for! I dont' really recall that smell, but it doesn't surprise me, seeing it's made of plastic.

Maybe run a cycle of vinegar-water thru it, to kind of clean it out. Then rinse w/ plain water. I'm sure the instructions that came w/ it tell how to do that cycle.

They DO have great coffee, don't they?!

I think that all coffee makers smell that way when they are new.
Try pouring a quart of white vinegar through it, lettting it "brew", then pouring cool water through it to rinse. If it still smells 'plasticky', run another cycle of vinegar and water through it.
Good luck.
