How do I correct place the stethoscope ear pieces into my ear. With the earpieces facing the back my head or my face?

I JUSt learned the CORRECT WAY how to do this I am in nursing school and our teacher just explained that the ear pieces need to be facing the FACE ... why...?? Because the ear canal desends tward the front of the face as well and if you put the ear pieces in backwards they would be against the skin of the back of the ear and won't be able to hear very well. :o) Have a wonderful day!!

they should face the back of your head- if you put them in wrong you'll notice it hurts your ears & you won't pick up sounds clearly

Im and EMT and you should have the earpieces towards your FACE. if you don't they will hurt, and not let you hear properlly.
