Perhaps one of the most frustrating things about Christians is their constant use of cliches. ("only begotten," "lord and savior," "believe in," etc). I'll try to make it simple.

Christians believe...

1 - There is a God
2 - He has a standard for human behavior
3 - Humans haven't lived up to it and therefore deserve punishment
4 - God took the punishment himself by dying on the cross as a proxy for you...this is his gift to you
5 - You can either accept or reject his gift
6 - If you accept his gift and surrender to his plan for your life, you are a Christian

Jesus summed up how a Christian should live his life: Love God, love your neighbor as yourself.

Always a great Q.

A Christian is one who has accepted Jesus as Lord as Peter did in the great confession. They repent of their sins and get baptized in Jesus' name for the gift of the Holy Spirit and then they live faithfully.

One who thinks that "GOD" came down to earth to save his children and sacrificed him ( even though he was murdered) then he got up and then his body went to heaven. Many kinds of Bibles and different kinds of Christians. some believe that if you a sin as long as you confess you are forgiven, some pay money to be forgiven, while others believe that they can do nothing wrong. generally they think they are better then every one else.

A Christian is someone who believes in God and in Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior (thereby taking upon him/herself the name of Christ), and lives as best they can according to the teachings of Christ.

A person that accepts the Bible as truth. A person who gives thanks to God. A person who knows it is by grace we are saved through faith. A person who knows he/she is sinful and needs the salvation, forgiveness won for us by Jesus death and resurrection. A person who tries to do the right thing and desires the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
