I used to have my hair really short. Like super short and spiked in the back in seventh grade and I liked it a lot, but theres only so many ways you can style hair and then it gets boring spiking it day after day. I used to have my hair really long when I was nine and I miss it. I kept cutting it that really short style, but now I really miss it so it's been a year and my hair is to my chin almost all the same length, but I want it to grow faster and longer. I've heard just about everything you can do to make hair grow longer, but I'm getting impatient. Examples eat healthy [protein], don't brush your hair because of split ends, don't wash it every day, get it trimmed a lot, but I don't believe that , I mean you're cutting your hair so it's going to take longer your hair grows from the roots.Massage your scalp while washing your hair, vitamins, hair extensions which I don't want. Please help me I'm growing impatient.....

You're right, brushing your hair can split the ends...but combing it won't. You do need to comb your hair as well as clean it.

Shampoo and conditioner will not hurt your hair growth and will keep your hair healthy. If your Caucasian and you have normal hair, its OK to shampoo and condition every day. If you're Black, Hispanic or Asian, you're better to shampoo less often.

Trim your hair once every 6 months and don't trim it more than 1/4 inch. Be sure the person that cuts it is good or else they'll cut of length you were trying to get.

In the end, your hair will never-ever grow more than 1/2 inch a month. That's just a biological fact. Sorry. Hair does grow faster i the summer months but still, not more than the 1/2 inch. Be patient. Keep your hair clean and combed and it will get there. It just takes time...and probably another 18 months before its in the middle of your back.

Good luck.

go to a salon and buy the nioxin shampoo and scalp therpy.it will help but nothing is going to make it grow over night.trimming your hair by the way doesnt make it grow faster.you should get a trim every 4-6 weeks to keep the split ends off.

Patience Patience and more Patience, Rome wasn't built in a day
Who ever told you to get it cut regularly is correct. The ends of your hair is dead, therefore every month or so, you have at least half and inch cut off, it will improve your hair, and encourage growth.

Hair growth is mainly genetical and you ain't gona change that.
Average rate of growth is 1/2 inch per month.
The shampoo the other person is talkin about is called, 'mane 'n tail'. It was orginally for use on (you guessed it!), horses!
It is a good overall shampoo for certain, but then again....there are many good shampoos on the market.
