biosilk. wet or dry it's great stuff. shine mists also help with static, and aren't as damaging as hair spray (plus they won't harden your hair).

I just started using Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine water-based hair wax.
Warm a little dab by rubbing it between your hands, then run your fingers through and over your hair. It adds shine and a bit of texture to your hair, while controling static. I use in in the morning, after drying my hair, and it's good for all day.

try patting a fabric softener in your hair (sounds weird but works)
make sure you use sound like Bounce sheets in your drier to prevent static on your clothes, which is probably a major source... if you wear lots of fuzzy sweaters or shirts try not to sweep them over your hair... (think socks on carpet!)
try switching your brush for something with thicker bristles.. sometimes the small spikey ones create lots of static.

Stop into a bathroom, run your hands under the faucet, and get your hair a little damp. Gets rid of static instantly.
