It sounds like french fries but she would make them with breakfast. Her mom used to make them as well.

My mom makes the best cornbread I have ever had in my life. We grew up on beans, cornbread, fried potatoes and collard greens. Oh my gosh it is so good. Every now and then I call her up and ask her to make some for me and my kids and we have a nice home cooked meal at mommas. Her cabbage rolls are good with cornbread also. :)

mom became Italian -- could she relax in peace. She taught me soooo a lot about cooking. I omit her, and her cooking -- inspite of the truth that i'm no slouch. each little thing she cooked became easily to die for. My favorites comprise: Lasagna Baked spaghetti with 9 kinds of cheese Cubed steak & gravy fowl & dumplings Oyster stew Biscuits -- Biscuits -- and bigger Biscuits & gravy guy, mom can make some freakin' reliable gravy Pepper steak Vegetable soup & cornbread Baked ham with cloves Macaroni & cheese Corn casserole The issues she could do with leftover Thanksgiving turkey were stunning too, rather a lot like the "Forrest Gump" rant on shrimp this, and shrimp that. red meat roast Pot roast Heck, any roast. mom could practice dinner ok, and that i omit her.
