My throat hurts really bad, it hurts to swallow and talk, my nose is all stuffed up but I don't really feel tired. I want to stay up late because it's a sleepover but I don't want to get pneumonia. Are there any fast ways to get rid a cold, or at least get relief from the symptoms? Any medicines you would like to recommend?

If its that bad, sleep more. Take ColdFX. It didn't work for me, but i dont know if it will work for you (sh** is expensive though. Works for my friends though). If notthing works, prospone the party, sadly.

Hope you get well soon (tomorrow)!

Take 1 g (1000 mg) of vitamin C x 3 every 15 min and 1mg (1000 mcg) B12 the same way. It is best if you can get time release C and B12. It will not cure the cold any sooner but may well ameliorate the symptoms.

Probably you can not get the Vitamins soon enough. The brand I have had the most luck with for 30+ years is Bronson No. 78B Vitamin C (which is sustained release) and Bronson No. 35B Vitamin B 12 (sustained release) They seem to have a release burst every 15 min or so therefore I take one every 10 to 15 min until I have taken 3 to 4 doses. The results usually last for 12 hours. If you are not used to large doses of Vitamin C you may have a mild case of diarrhea. So stay close to a RR until you know. Also you did not say your body size. The smaller you are the faster and more pronounced the results will be. If you ar less than 130 pounds perhaps you should use 500 mg Vitamin C and 500 mcg Vitamin B12.

I have the same thing and feel terrible. However, I have been using Thera-flu, Apple & Cinnamon Flavor and it has helped tremendously, but I don't think you should do a sleepover because you could end up with pneumonia and it could even be the flu and I am sure you don't want to give it to everyone else. Be sure to read the label before using this product, since I don't know your health history I would hate to tell you to use something that you shouldn't because of current health condition. By the way, Happy Birthday and hope you are feeling better soon.

I had it a couple of weeks ago and the pharmacist suggested Sudafed. It's one of the drugs you have to sign for as they can use it to make meth but it is an old across the counter that still works great. Most of my family has been down with it four or five days and I did ok until it was time for another pill. Chain drug stores have it cheaper in the generic Psudofederan. Same thing as Sudafed but lots cheaper. Good Luck and God Bless

Cancel the party and ask everyone to come over next weekend that you don't want to get anyone else sick! Don't be selfish...yes it is your birthday..but what if someone gets sick from you and does not get over it so easy....what if they end up in the hospital because you were selfish and wanted that party so bad that you did not care...you'd feel really bad later...save face and be nice and cancel the party! Mean time echanasia, zinc and... emergen"C" these things aid in knocking out a cold...colloidal silver will too!
