It could be your not adjusting your diet for your bite. Try cutting everything. Do not eat Doritos, eat Pringles, No apples, carrots, celery unless cut and slivered. Candy- if you have to eat things like liesavers and peppermint, put the in a towel and hit them with a hammer. No chewing ice or gum. (1/2 stick o f soft gum is okay)If it crunches - it is not for you. Rice Krispies are okay- grape nuts are not. Chain could of broke for many reasons - don't worry. Sharp wire- If you trust your parent have them use a pair of wire cutters or fingernail clippers to cut the wire where is now poking . If it is out of a tube, they might be able to put it in the hole using a flash light and a needle nose plier. If none of that is available- put a piece of licorce on the end ofthe poking wire until you can go to the dentist. Some peope have teeth that do not bond well. If you did not take big bites(ie- don't bite into a subway sandwich- cut it) or eat anything hard, they may have to go with bands on all your teeth- so try to do the diet thing . Anything can be dunked in milk, crushed, cut, or substituted. Go for ice cream instead of sticky candy. No beef jerky- no corn nuts, skittles, They make snicker ice cream, and skittle freezerpops. Jus twatch the pressure you put on them. As you straighten, they will not break as easy. The chain might have been cut too close to end or the rubber old. You'll get done so much faster if you don't break. One thing they don't tell you is how fast it can go, encase you move slowly. So hang in there look at all the models with their perfect teeth. No one ever said they hated their straight teeth. Brush alot! even with just a wet toothbrush to get off plaque. Use mouth wash and buy Viadent if you have trouble keeping the plaque of you braces. You are now brushing each tooth, not your teeth. If go at like you used to, you;ll get a cavity.

Well, I would have to address the second question first. If your brackets are consistently falling off, it sounds like the adhesive that's being used is inadequate or the amount that is being placed on the bracket is insufficient. Unless you're intentionally trying to take them off, there is absolutely no reason for this to happen. Once you address this situation with your orthodontist, the wax should be a piece of cake. You just have to apply more pressure when putting the wax on the brackets. Press the wax into the metal as if you are getting an imprint of the brackets..It's just wax. It won't damage the metal and the relief you receive will be amazing.
One more thing... it is extremely unprofessional for your orthodontist to go off and yell at you. You are the client and are footing the bill. This is unacceptable behavior. Kindly tell your orthodontist how you feel when he/she speaks to you in that manner. Just make sure YOU are not disrespectful when you address that issue.

First of all, your dentist has no right to yell at you about that. When I had braces, my bottom brackets fell off all the time because my top teeth would hit it. My wire never fell out, that's kind of weird.. but I would blame that on the dentist probably. And about the wire cutting your gum.. this may sound gross, but this is what i used to do. I would stick my thumb back into my mouth where the wire was sticking out and push on it with the nail. I hope that helps. :)

well the orthodontist shouldn't be yelling at you first off.
and if there falling off with you doing nothing, then its the orthodontist's fault because he/she is not putting on the brackets on the right way.
just try to not eat hard things for a while and see what happens, because maybe the brackets are weak.

My sister's friend had that happen to her and sadly, she had to wait until her next ortho appointment. Well, have you called the office and asked for them to help or some advice?
I dont think there's any excuse for a chain falling out except lack of brushing or something sharp scraped them
