The same thing we came from... a common ancestor, not an ape.

Yes, its believed that all mammals are probably derived from a common smaller mammal like some sort of rodent.

It was single celled organisms (very very simple ones, without even mitochondria), to complex single celled organisms, eventually to fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. Insects appeared sometime very soon after the first fish began to move on land.

Though thats just a rough approximation of what happened.

Not a chain, a tree. This would take too much space on here. Kind of oversimplified from where you started, reptile--> both birds and mammals. Early mammals were small, like little fuzzy lizards etc. They were already diverse as there were many forms that evolved. Try taking Sructural Evolution of Vertebrates or a class with a similar name, it will help.

The chain isn't complete. New evidence is found constantly. But from evidence came from a previous smaller species of mammal. Go Google or Yahoo Human Evolution.

It's outlined in Dawkin's book 'The Ancestor's Tale'. Keep in mind that these common ancestors, by and large, do not exist today. So you can't say, for instance, that humans evolved from monkeys or rats. But somewhere along the line, all creatures had a common ancestor.

Reptiles split into birds and small mammals.

Monkeys, apes and humans are coexistent on the time
line i.e.; they are all around NOW.

apes evolved from another type of mammal similar to the ape. There are hundreds of thousands of animals in the chains of evolution. It's not so simple as how you put it. That's why people think evolution isn't real, because they try to simplify it like you just did. A lot of dinosaurs slowly evolved into birds. Some dinosaurs evolved into mammals. It depended on where they lived and their environments.

Apparantly all of the present day primates and monkeys evolved from a small creature that lived in trees. There are similar kinds of creatures around today. If you are asking a serious question, then I suggest you go to your nearest library and find a good book on evolution. Your librarian will be glad to help you.

the recent evolutionist idea is that humans & 'monkeys' (other primates we're familiar with) evolved from a common ancestor; neanderthals ecisted wiith humans but that 'species' (?) died out
this theory is based on what fossils have been found and there are quite a few
the creation belief is based on a book-hmmmm, which is more plausible?

Here's something you might like to read: "A Short History Of Almost Everything," by Bill Bryson. It's a very clear layman's look at the ideas behind geology and evolution and much more.

Some believe in the Evolution theory. Others believe in what the Genesis account says about "according to its kind". (Gen 1:24,25)

So before the monkey, there was - nothing. God created animals as they are. This supports the facts found. That there is no link. It's missing. And it's missing because it never existed.

No offense.
