I have been a regular at a bar similar to Cheers for about two years. I have a lot of friends there - it is the kind of place you can walk in by yourself and know you will always see a friend there. Its a hangout. Anyhow a new bartender started there in Jan, an attractive girl, and a recent college grad. She is pretty but I was really impressed by what she does for a day job, what she said, and her down to earthness. Over the course of a month, I warmed up to her. we talked. First she openly stated that she didnt have a boyfriend. Next she started dating someone casually but stated outright that it wasnt going anywhere. So I asked her out. Long story short, she said yes, but I came to realize over time that she meant NO! Meanwhile she broke up with the other guy. Now when I go into the bar, there is always a freaky vibe. If she is with her friends, she whispers to them and they look at me. Now Im freaked out and confused.. havent talked to her since other than cordially.

It would be a shame for you to remain uncomfortable at a place you've been hanging out for a long time. Here's what I would do (although I'm a girl by the way): I would approach the girl when she's alone. I would just go up to her with a friendly smile and say something to the effect of "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable by asking you out. No hard feelings?" If she is receptive to that, I would remain friendly but a bit aloof. Leave the ball in her court after that. I would still hang out there with my friends, and would be careful not to stare at her or she might continue to whisper about you. If you play it cool, there's nothing to say. And if she is rude when you go up to her, I'd try to forget about it and continue to hang out there but ignore her. If you ignore her, she will have nothing further to whisper about. They can only make fun of you if you keep paying attention to her.

ok be wierder
scream "o hay "
walk up to them
"mind if i join...good"
and start a random conversation
if they go away... follow them continuesly
if they stay or go, sit in the middle of every one
talk really loud about this random subject so evry1 can hear
then talk about your troubles
if you have none make it up
get a little emotional and cry into the air really loud for Dr.Phil's help
when they say something about that get excited and say how great he is
go on with that conversation until you have to go

Either she wants to DO YOU really bad but talks to her friends to hold up the pain of not being naked with u. Or she is just talking about how great or not great u are. Just ask her( But dont say that i know u were talking bout me ) Cause it could end baddly. Just ask her " Do u mind teling me if u talk to ur friends bout me. Its ok if u are im sure its nothing bad i just wanted to know. But if u want to keep ur life personal its ok u dont have to tell me anything". Ask her that

Wow, looks like you've gotten into quite a confusing situation.

Just stop going there for a week or so and see if it all blows over, or go there less regularly for a while.

Go as often as you normally do but bring a girl now and then. Maybe, that will hush the hens up.

Maybe she's a lunatic?

Just suck it up and talk to her, and tell her if she doesn't want to see you that's fine, but that you would rather she tell you straight up instead of avoid you and whisper.

That sucks... just wait for a while and hope that they will stop talking about you.
