Is it better to use the shampoo and conditioner made by same brand? whatever the answer is yes or no or doesn't matter, can you recommended any good brand of them? My hair is thick, it is like the hair has no life, it isn't sleek and soft. and if I didn't wash my hair for one day, it will become oily. Thanks for recommendation!

A lot of you say Pantene. I use pantene for 2 or 3 years and still using it, but seems my hair not improve, so I want to try some other product, and I heard that "not always using the same shampoo for a long time." I dont know is it right, but definitely gonna try another.

I have really thick hair too. I use herbal essences (SP?) and they have a bunch of different kinds for whatever you need for your hair. I say, you use shampoo and conditioner by the same brand and the same type/kind.
Hope this helps!!

I think it's best to use the same brand of shampoo and conditioner , just because you get the best results. I would recommend Pantene Pro-V. they have all types of products for different hair needs

i notice a difference if they aren't the same brand but in all it doesn't really matter. treseme is a good brand by the way...and with the oily thing...watch how much conditioner you use there is such thing as overdoing it!i have really long thick hair and i only use about a quarters worth and mine is really soft and shiny...
also there is this thing you can do it sounds kinda crazy and out there but it works.
take 3/4 cup beer(not light) boil it down to about a 1/4 of a cup, let it cool and add 1 cup of the shampoo of your choice. use it as normal shampoo and rinse. TRY IT!!!

I also have very thick and oily hair. I have tried alot of different shampoos and conditioners. The one I have found that did good for me is Pantene Pro-V. I like it alot, but you have to get the kind for oily hair. If you don't then it's just putting more oil into your hair and that kind of defeats the purpose.

Typically, like products are designed to compliment one another. It's not written in stone that you have to use the same brands, but often times, it's helpful. If you have super oily hair, try a clarifying shampoo, and use conditioner once or twice a week.

allsoft by redkin is great stuff. you do not have to use the same brands for shampoo and conditioner.
other good softening sleeking spoo's and cond.'s are:
biosilk smoothing system
matrix sleek slooks (use only a couple times a week)
halo by graham webb moisturizing
nioxin smoothing shampoo and scalp therapy (great for thick coarse hair)
TIGI s-factor
