I have had beagles since I was a small girl. The barking and yelping usually get better with age. Remember with beagles they need A LOT of exercise. If you don't have a fenced yard you are going to be walking a lot. I highly recommend crate training, it has always worked for me. I also use the "Potty Bell" technique. Remember with that though, always, ALWAYS ring the bell when you open that door. Even if you aren't opening it for potty time. Eventually they catch on and ring the bell for fun. Don't get frustrated, just open the door and take your puppy out. Beagles are a very unique breed to train. It will take lots of Patience and Love for both of you to get through it. To date I have owned 8 beagles, everyone of them has had puppy training classes and then refresher classes later. Beagles are a very stubborn breed at times. But when you are playing with your beagle it is very rewarding. I also recommend buying a training book, but I also recommend buying a book especially about beagles. You can find a lot of good ones at Petsmart.

Take her outside to go to the bathroom every hour, plus after she eats and drinks. But you must do this all the time or else she will never learn.. For the barking problem take a spray bottle of water and when she barks squirt her it wont hurt her but dont do it in the winter time and then go outside cuz she could get sick. good luck.. be patient among all else and you both will be fine.. Make sure she knows you are the boss and not the other way around or you will have a problem puppy..

You really should go to obedience class and take your puppy. You need to TAKE HER OUTSIDE at various intervals (after she eats or drinks water), and at other times, in order to let her know that is the place to go. Expect that she will forget. As for barking and yelping, take her to obedience class and learn something about canine behavior. And please, if you decide to get rid of her for some reason, do not just turn her out someplace, but take it to a licensed shelter. I hope it does not come to that, but frankly, you sound a bit ill-prepared to have a puppy, if you already have it and have not even learned how to housebreak it.

Reward the puppy with a doggie treat
when she does the right thing.
She'll learn.
And give the dog a real name.
Like Fido.

tie a cowbell to your door knob... everytime you take her out ring the bell... she will learn that ringing the cowbell means outside... pretty soon you will hear it ring on its own...
