I just got engaged, but I don't know if it matters that the ring isn't real. The first time he asked me, the ring was real but the proposal was fake as hell. I know he didn't want to then. This time the ring isn't real but he at least said the proposal right. Already with the cold feet. What should I do???? I want the fairytale.....

Ask yourself if your ready for marriage. You should be ready both mind, body and, yes, spirit. But most importantly ask yourself if you really love this person. Personally, I can determine if it's really love when I see myself growing old with this person. And oh, about the engagement ring, it doesn't count at all, because love doesn't look at material things, so whether it's fake or not, as long as the words are true, then it doesn't matter at all.

Honey, fairytales are just that, fairytales. If this is how he said it and the ring he gave you it should be perfect for you. If you are holding out because some details you think you need do you really want this man? Are you really ready for the commitment of a lifetime? or do you just want a dress and a rock? and about the ring needing to be real, no, you dont even need a ring. or a proposal for that matter
all you need is to both be willing and ready for marriage.

The ring is just a symbol, back in the old days many times there wasn't enough money for a wedding ring and the divorce rate was a lot lower. It's all about priorities, I've found that nothing in life will ever match up the "fairytale". If you really love him it should be enough that he's willing to meet you at the altar.

YES IT MATTERS! I would NEVER say yes to man who didnt get me a REAL ring. You should ask him today "so are we going to go out today to buy me a real engagement ring, because this one is just the temporary one so i can pick my own ring right?" See what he says. If that is the ring he plans on giving you as an engagement ring then he is NOT the one.

welcome to reality you dont always get what you want and you can have a fairytale wedding but a good marrage takes plenty of work on both sides. The ring cost isnt important it is just a ring if you both really wanna be together that wont matter. is there really a right way to propose i dont think so.

Fairy tales are not real! If you have cold feet then it doesn't matter if the ring is real or not. You should not get married. When the right guy ask you won't care about the ring.

well, the ring does matters to me. it symblise the love attachment. but, if financially is the probs, lets' face reality and make sure the feelings rite for both of you and you are really ready for the marriage. anyway, you are the only one who can feel and tell is he for real rite? forget about fairy tale, reality sucks... good luck.
