i could answer this dozens of different ways. what do you really want to know? Or is your motto:

Don't eschew obfuscation, be vague and ambiguous as a matter of course.

Students are expected to answer assignments in school. Most children want to please adults, be they teachers or parents. Older students usually want to do well in school because they are convinced that school is good for them--it will lead to a good job, happiness, education is better than ignorance, or something.

Or, do you mean, why do they prefer to do assignments at school rather than at home? Some students (elementary school) can complete homework assignments in less time than it takes to write them down in their notebooks, so why shouldn't they do them in school?

Sometimes students have free time in school, so they take advantage of the time to do homework. That means there is more time at home for other activities.

oh..

personally,

its simply because students would only remember their assignments when they are in school already.

besides, they would still have to cheat with their friends to answer their assignemnts so better do it in school than at home.
