Hi I live in Italy. Rome is in central Italy, and usually the weather is pretty good all year-round. Seeing that we are in March, I'd bring a sweater and an umbrella just in case it gets chilly and/or rains.

Italians love all women, no matter what their nationality. Don't think they will throw themselves at your feet though....they may if you are drop-dead-gorgeous or a complete slut. In the latter case, they will want to have sex with you but will not care about pursuing a relationship with you.

Enjoy your stay in Rome...it's a fantastic city.

Jetgirly....I know what you mean! LOL Sometimes I'm sooooo embarrassed of being American. LOL.

this year the weather has been very warm, and i dont think u will need more than a leather jacket in the coldest nights.
as for the second question... italian men don't like girls according to their nationality, and anyways american or canadian would make little difference. so good luck!

As someone already said March is a crazy month, it easily switch from rain to sun in a heart bit. This year is the warmest of the last 3oo yrs, yesterday people in Sicily were already swimming. so bring layers and a little umbrella. no flip flop, it will be a clear sign you are not from EU.
About Italian men. They like every type of women, especially Blondie ones. They often go for no Italians simply because they think they can get a one night stand out of it. Canadian or American...no difference.they will go for the hottest or the drunkest one.

I'd say it's pretty good around this time. I went in June and it was scorching hot. It will still probably be a little chilly, but not too bad.

And about the American or Canadian women...I really don't think it matters. If you are nice and respectful they will like you regardless your nationality.

You can always check weather.com for monthly averages regarding temperature and rainfall. Rome is usually warmer than most of Europe this time of year, look for highs in the high 50's and lows in the low 40's, so the weather will be fairly cool. Italian men will hassle you like you've never seen before, it's one place I will never allow my daughter to go alone once she old enough. Whether you're from Canada or America or Mars they are relentless. I think they believe American women especially are easy and gullible, which may or may not be true. Don't say you weren't warned, be careful and have a nice trip. Italy is a fantastic country to visit, the beauty, the art, the food and culture is not to be missed.

I'm Canadian and I spent two years living in Italy. Italian men couldn't care less if you're American, Canadian, English, Irish, Scottish or Welsh. As long as you speak English, they'll think you're an easy target. It's hilarious because a lot of girls from English-speaking countries will hook up with nasty Italian guys while they're on holiday, just because the guy does some random romantic gesture (Newsflash: he's buying you flowers because he knows it's an easy way in your pants).

Saluti e chiedo scusa ancora.

I suppose italian men like both, the most important thing is that a girl shouldn't have MacDonald's fat in her bottom... so before coming here, make a diet if you need. And please, leave some men for me too, because even living here, I didn't find my prince yet...
Or, come and bring an american guy, so that I could share italian ones with you. ;o)

To Erlampo:
"We're the sons of the sons of the sons of Michelangelo and Leonardo; whose son are you?"
