You can't prove marriage by a DNA test. The DNA test in question only proved that the two were not related by blood. By the way the tomb is not identified to "Christ" but to a "Jesus" and a "Mary" and a "Judas". These were three of the most common names of the time. I am told about 30% of the women were named Mary!
What Mr. Cameron is really insinuating, is that you should see his movie, so he will make more money out of you. As I don't like to be manipulated, I'm not buying.

Nope. Jesus Christ never married. IDK about Mary Magdelene; she could have, but I think church tradition has her swearing off marriage (b/c of a history of prostitution) and men, and traveling to Russia, where she later was killed.
DNA testing will not show marital relations. For that, you would need to find some sort of document or record of the relationship, or perhaps a family tomb with an enscription. DNA testing only shows blood relations.

Even if Mary Magdeline was the wife of Christ--she would not have been blood-related to Him--so what good would a DNA test do? Are the bodies of her children still around? Is her's? Even if they are, Jesus' body is not, so DNA would not prove anything!!

Wouldn't you have to have DNA from Mary Magdelene?
You know the best proof that Jesus wasn't married....He traveled with 12 men.....did you ever once hear Mary saying anything to the effect of.....Jesus why are you going to spend the weekend with those 12 men, I want you to spend some time with ME. 12 men....one of them would have said something at some point about Jesus' wife....they couldn't have kept that quiet.

No. However, DNA could prove that she and Jesus had a child. But you'd have to prove both samples were who you thought they were, in the first place.
I don't know how they'd do that. So there are bones. How could you possibly prove who they belong to, unless you have a KNOWN sample to compare it to.
That said, I'd love it if he could prove it. How interesting that would be.
I find it VERY interesting that some xians unequivocally deny the possibility of Cameron's suggestion, yet absolutely believe that the virgin Mary has appeared in a plate of spaghetti or a mold stain. lol

I think the only way to prove something like that, would be to find marriage records. DNA doesn't get passed back and forth with the wedding ring. They'd still have their own, unrelated DNA whether they were wed or not.
If they had DNA that was proven beyond any doubt...belonging to Jesus, and Mary Magdalene...and found DNA that proved that their "union" produced a child...that would STILL not prove they were married...only that a child was conceived.

Do you know what a DNA test is? A DNA test shows same DNA from the same family. So, no. Besides, it is not Jesus, nor is it Mary M. or Mary the Mother in that tomb. Jesus is alive!

No, of course not, but you do make a good point. Mary Magdalene would have to be in the line of David, just like Christ is. If one could at least establish that much, they would have one criterion down (and so many more to go).

Not directly. DNA testing could prove that they were the parents of a child, but you'd need samples from all three of them. And you'd need to know exactly where the samples came from. That's not gonna happen.
This "tomb of jesus" is bullsh!t. Just a ratings game. Ignore it.

He's insinuating that they had a son together. They're going to test the remains of the child with the Mary and "Jesus" remains they found to see if they are the parents.
