As in any other area of nursing. There is no specific category. If you gave the wrong med at the wrong time, wrong dose, wrong patient, etc it is an error....or if you failed to follow up on the patient response to the med or to notify of adverse reaction it is an error
as a nurse the greatest good you can do is to take care of the patient. In other words make sure you get off your *** and monitor you patients and do not ever assume they are OK

Category? I don't understand what you are looking for with your question.

In any type of nursing, a medication error is considered an abnormal event and event reports have to been written up, it also has to be reported to the company's lawyer, etc.
