Is this form of harassment. I rented out my condominium yet she found a way to mail me a letter to my new place.

I am so tired of her harassment.

yes, this is a type of harrassment and you can go to the police and have a peace bond put on her.

Laws vary from state to state. Sue her for what exactly? Damages? Cash? Pain and suffering? Probably not. The very best you can hope for is to force her to stop harrassing you.

In general though, it does sound like you are being harrased. The police will not be able to help you other than to advise you as to your options. Maybe just sending the nutjob a registered letter requesting her to stop mailing you will be enough, or it may escalate matters.

There are a lot of unstable dangerous people out there. Don't dismiss this kook as an abberation or an oddity. You need to view this as a threat to your safety.

Start with the police and make some kind of formal complaint for the record. Keep all the mail you receive and make copies. If it continues or get's worse, you may have to enlist the services of a laywer. Not a pretty picture. Understand that the legal system protects and coddles the criminals, the insane and child molesters, and turns victims into criminals. It's all bass-ackwards but that's the reality today.

Don't put up with her crap. You can sue her in small claims court if you gather enough evidence. Look up any laws regarding harassing content being sent through the mail. You may even want to consider a restraining order.

Yes this is harassment, and I hope you kept all the letters. You should go to the Police Dept and make out a report, they will tell you what to do. Good Luck.

I don't know if you can sue her but if you live in a smaller city or town you might be able to get a police officer to go over and have a chat with her. In a big city I doubt they have enough time though.

How about you go to the police?
How do I know your American? How about you stop having a cry and tell the police instead of trying to get money.
Honestly what has the world come to..People care about money more than justice.

I wouldn't sue her but get a restraining order. Then she will go to jail I believe if she contacts you or comes into contact with you. Or if she is spreading it around town the you can sue for defamation of character I believe.

Ask the DA in your county, he can tell you what to do. You can refuse mail, just write "refused" on it and put it back in the mailbox. The PO will send it back to her. Or you could give her a good ************, that might work.

Keep all her letters, in case you need to file a restraining order against her in the future. It sounds like she is dangerously obsessed.
