Feb. 25, 2007 — New scientific evidence, including DNA analysis conducted at one of the world's foremost molecular genetics laboratories, as well as studies by leading scholars, suggests a 2,000-year-old Jerusalem tomb could have once held the remains of Jesus of Nazareth and his family.
The findings also suggest that Jesus and Mary Magdalene might have produced a son named Judah.
The DNA findings, alongside statistical conclusions made about the artifacts — originally excavated in 1980 — open a potentially significant chapter in Biblical archaeological history.
A documentary presenting the evidence, "The Lost Tomb of Jesus," will premiere on the Discovery Channel on March 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The documentary comes from executive producer James Cameron and director Simcha Jacobovici.
but nobody can really be sure if all these are true. there are a lot of fakes out there.

Notice what the scriptures say in Luke 24:1-12. There we can read about how the disciples could not find Jesus body. So evidently God had removed it. So, why then, would someone suddenly find his body now, 2000 years later ? Does that sound reasonable ?!

When these ossuaries were found back in the early 1980s in Jerusalem no one was stupid enough to claim that they might belong to Jesus of Nazareth. Sunday you'll hear people stupid enough to claim this.
There were many people with the common names found in this family tomb in Jerusalem (e.g. Mary, Yosa, Jesus, etc.). There are too many dissimilarities between Jesus' family and this family in the tomb in Jerusalem for anyone to think seriously that the Jesus family in Jerusalem was the same as Jesus' family in Nazareth.
The problem is that so many people are eager to believe anything that they think might topple the moral teachings of Christianity, that they will believe even in impossible stories, like this one documented on the Discovery Channel Sunday night.
It's nice to see that a few level-headed atheists in this forum see the claims as ridiculous too.

Yeah and they matched the DNA sample Jesus left in the local Hospital at the time....*rolls eyes*.
You are aware that the name "Jesus" was extremely common at the time, right? It would be like finding a tombstone that said, "Bob" 2,000 years from now and claiming that it was the tomb of Bobby Knight. Chances are, it's not.

No it's not true....Jesus isn't dead so how could they find His body?
There were other people named Jesus about the time Jesus of Nazareth was around....Josephus a Jewish historian wrote about a Jesus and his 12 bandits but it was a group of thieves with no relation to my Lord and Savior.

It's not the body of Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Savior of the world. He is in heaven at the right hand of the Father.
