You sound like a nice guy who deserved a lot better than you got. And she sounds like a girl not mature enough for a real and meaningful relationship with another person. It hurts, and it will for a little while until you get wrapped up in other things in your life and/or meet someone new.

Take away from this experience the awareness that you might be someone who tends to be attracted to manipulative girls like this one. Don't let it become a relationship pattern for you. Love is always going to be a risk. It is for everyone. Be thankful you saw her true colors and got away from her now, before you turned it into something life-long.

Relationships teach you something about yourself as well as other people. If you learn how to spot the users and avoid them, one small good something will have come out of your pain.

In the meantime, get involved in something else, whatever interests you, and you'll forget her more easily. And then one day, you'll meet someone else--but don't judge her by this bad experience. Give her a chance. Just as there are guys like you, there are nice, caring girls out there too. You'll meet one.

Well, Mat, as a guy, I think I can tell you from experience, that maybe she's brainwashed and family controlled- prhaps even on memory suppression pills. It's unfortunate, unconstitutional, immoral and even illegal, but there are some women in the world, who are like that. And their controlling, self contradictory, lying family wont admit anything. My ex was such a girl. But I hope that you and I both find a new gf, soon.

Matt, you sound young. You need to know that women are evil. That is just what they do. They wonder why no men treats them well, but you answer that. You have to figure out that all of the good girls are with assholes. Be an asshole Matt. Then you will be fine.

Sounds like the guy gave too much of himself making it easy for the girl to take advantage of his kindness/generosity/love. Next time, just don't give more than the other person is willing to give. Love involves give and take, not give and give, and not take and take on either party's side.

you might be young and she just doesn't kno what she's got. But maybe she's just not worth it, and you obviously have a lot to offer and any girl would be lucky to have someone like you.

ah.........the word love is used way too soon in relationsihps.
And if you figure out that a girl can't be trusted, then you can't trust her words of love either.

Next time be more cautious
