With the domestic car companies struggling with foreign automakers, you would think design and competition would force truly unique designs. Isnt it time that someone re-think the definition of a car is as we know it? The average person cant work on one anymore. The more time goes by, the more and more designs and small breakthroughs are copied by all the manufacturers. In this day you can have custom cases for your cell phone, your computer. You have a whole auto accessory aftermarket offering consumers ways of making thier ordainary car look unordainary. Why dont we change the way cars are built on the molecular level? Build a very simple shell that is super easy to build and work on. And using a basic template, purchase your own custom body panels and engines... etc without having to buy a pre-assembled car with all the parts you dont want? Why hasnt someone thought of this yet?
