"My take" is that you are the typical religious hypocrit. You don't want OTHER people to do it, but you want to do it all you would like. Wake up and realize that you need to SHOW others the way....not TELL others the way. That is how jesus would have done it!!

That is a good sign that you feel bad about it, it shows you have a conscious. Way too many people don't have a problem with it, as you can see some people don't even know what it means. That's too bad you say you don't want to be married again, you shouldn't close yourself off to that idea completely. There are alot of very nice men who might be worth the trouble. I guess the next time you are in a situation where you have to choose if you should or shouldn't, just ask yourself if this temporary moment of pleasure is really worth hurting your self-esteem.....again. It's not. Unfortunately many people are too foolish to realize that their folly comes with a price. Most often paid later in life. And have too much of an animal mindset. People don't understand the spiritual significance of sex. It's a binding act that's suppose to tie a man and a woman to each other for life apart from being an act of pleasure. I'am willing to bet that the reason there is so much divorce nowaday's is cause couples aren't marrying their firsts. So that commitment lacks power that it could of had. Forget the Catholicism and the nunnery and become a Christian. peace and blessings

Oh boy. Look, I am studied in the original manuscripts. God uses fornication as a way to describe to you how he feels about you running after other "gods". its not sex that it refers to.
Jesus Christ is returning for a virgin bride (no gender intended - and "virgin" is spiritually speaking. Your spiritual "husband" has been away for a long while, and when he returns, and finds you whoring (Bible words, not mine) after other gods, then you weren't being very true, were you?
Get off the sex thing. God uses these analogies to get the point across to us about how badly he feels about idolatry, in a way that we can all relate to.
My God, you are missing out on so much of the message of Gods Word, because you don't understand what the Word is even talking about.
Thats such a shame.
If you don't want to get married again, thats fine, but don't do that because you think God is against it - he most certainly is not against it.
What he is against, is a person practicing idolatry, which he uses the analogy "adultery".
You are putting yourself into unnecessary bondage, and its your own fault; God does not require this from you. You are free in Christ.

Well, I'm not Christian, so my opinion may not be of much help to you, but here it is anyway. Marriage was not a sacrament until about 300-400 years ago when the Church realized it could make money off of the wedding party paying for the special mass. Only the rich could afford a proper church wedding.
Before then, marriage was a social contract. The contract could be for as short as a year or as long as the couple lived, or anywhere in between.
So, why was virginity considered so important? Because sons inherited property from their father, and while you always know who the mother is, the father could only be determined by the mother. In order to ensure that every child was his, a man had to ensure that she slept with no one but him.
Fornication is a wonderful thing, if you use safer sex practices and don't use sex to hurt people or yourself. Enjoy yourself and your lover(s). Sex is a gift from the gods and they certainly wouldn't want to see you squander it. :D
Btw, it's never too late to be a nun.

Ok. You need to understand that the Bible was written to control the masses and unite them under the Roman empire. Fornication is, was and always will be normal. I am sorry to tell you this but Christianity is nothing but a bunch of lies. Now, if you choose to believe and live by the principles of the Bible then good for you and I admire that in any person. However, you should not feel guilty for doing something that is natural. Nowadays (in the US) religion is about power and money. I used to be a Mormom or LDS but as I matured and did my own research I found out that the LDS church (and every religion based in Christianity) is really about making money. The Mormom church is on the top 5 of the 500 hundred fortune companies. Listen, being a good person and earning your way to heaven is done not by going to church every Sunday but by knowing what is right and what is wrong and setting a set of values for you and your family and then live by them. If you make a mistake (according to your own values) don't feel guilty, just try to do better next time.

You can't justify what is clearly spoken against in the Bible. I'm not perfect either, and I'm a teenage boy, but I am trying hard to stay abstinent and cleanse my mind of things I did before I became a strong Christian. Sure I slip, but I realize it is wrong, and I try to fix it as soon as possible.
As for the person above, fornication is any sexual immoral act, including pre-marital sex and, oh how to put this, self-gratification.

I justify fornication because it is an act that does not hurt anyone in normal circumstances when both parties consent to the act. So, on a logical basis it is not an "evil" act. As far as the bible, I would take its advice and rules with a grain of salt. Remember, it is just a book, not a law based census.

I don't, it's a sin....I've done it too. I asked God for forgiveness and help not to fall into temptation again. My current boyfriend is too far away physically for it to be a problem and we are talking about getting married. I've never been married or divorced so it would be a first time for me and for him, he's been married but his wife died in a car accident.

It is a mental thing, not a biological thing like atheists will tell you. People crave sex just as they crave the taste of doritos or doughnuts. You have to be strong and fight those temptations just as you should eat right and exercise also. Atheists will tel you that you're an animal and this is what animals do, so go for it, but humans are not just mindless sex-crazed creatures. atheists have small minds

Why would you feel bad about it? as long as it's a healthy relationship it's a good thing. I'm not a christian, but don't they believe that god created "fornication" to be enjoyed in a helathy relationship (marital)? You might have some issues in that area of your life, have you considered therapy?
