sounds like it's your first tattoo, right? the color that a tattoo has during/right after it's done is not gonna be the color it is when it heals. some of the ink may come out, but just let it heal completely before you do anything, im sure after it's done you'll be satisfied (assuming you went to a decent artist)

In addition to what has already been said...
The tattoo will go through more than one peeling, really. There's the first one you've seen, much like a sunburn, but the skin below that will also peel - just not in the same way. I've found it takes about a month to get to the mostly 'cooked' state for a tattoo, but three months to really settle in.
As mentioned it *won't* be as bright as when you first get it since ink is in all layers of the skin at that point. However, it will brighten once your skin has had a chance to regenerate all the way down to the last layer pierced by the tattoo needle. In the meantime, you're looking at the ink through damaged - but currently being repaired/replaced by the body - skin tissues.

The tattoo ink is always brighter before the skin has a chance to exfoliate, taking some of the ink pigment with it. It's normal for *some* fading,... there shouldn't be a huge difference in coloring. Keep sunblock on it when you're out in the sun, too, that will help it from further fading. If it's only been a week since the tat, you'll have to wait a few more weeks before retouching. The skin has to be completely healed.

What could have caused the fading besides the normal skin growing back over the top could have been your aftercare. Certain products will fade/milk out colours when used on fresh tattoos.
Namely A&D (contains Zinc Oxide), Petroleum products (Neosporin, bacitracin etc), bleaching chemicals (chlorinewater for example). Stuff like that can affect your tattoo greatly in the first few days of precious healing.
Sun exposure in the first few weeks can also cause drastic fading because your healing skin is more fragile and suceptible to damage at that time.
Wait til it has been 1 month and then go and see the artist, they should know if it needs a touchup or not, as its hard for us to give accurate answers without beign able to see it.

My friend is a huge tatoo enthusiast, me, not so much. However, he had a similar problem.
Anyway, we can't see your tattoo so it's hard to critique on what is going on. If you are truly disatisfied with it and the skin has healed, I would recommend of course going back. It's your skin, get it looking how you want it!
If the tattoo artist that performed the art says it's fine how it is, I would try visiting another tattoo artist to just get another opinion. There are many tattoo artists who are just simply not good, or have not been doing tattoos long enough as others.
Tattoos generally don't fade from the dermis layer as they become permament, they last forever, so if the tattoo you got is looking faded definetely go into the store and check it out. I'm sure the artists will not be bothered by your questions or concerns.

It's still healing. tattoos flake off and then they get all shiny and a new layer of skin is growing over it. It will look faded for a couple more days. wait until it is fully healed and isn't tender at all before you go to get it touched up. All of my tattoos do that too. It's just part of the healing process. By the time it is done healing I'm sure it will look much better.

As I know the wrist tattoos always look more faded than others. Do to the fact that the sun mostly hit your wrist in every sunny day activities. Like driving a car. lol. But anyways if you want you can go get touch ups done but it will more than likely be faded. The more tan you are the more dull it will be. The more pale you are the brighter it will be. If you are happy with it talk to your tattoo artist and see if can help you with it.

sounds like the scabbing is gone, yes your right tattoo look brighter when it is first done!this is because your skin is irritated, also on your wrist there is not any fat, tattoo look brighter when first done!( I can not see it so this is only through my experience ) but if you feel out of sorts with th work go to see the artist who did your tattoo,a good artist would be more than happy to do any touch ups that may need to done, their reputation is their income!!!!!!!!

It depends on where they are on your body. Mine looked more "faded" after they peeled at first, but they look fine now. Because they are on my feet, I get them touched up every year because of fading. You might try calling the tattoo place to see what they say. Keep moisturizing. Burt's Bees products work really well.

DId you get a permanet tattoo or temperary one. If it's temporary, then it should flake off after a few days. If it's permanant, then you probably have dry skin.
