It will show them that not only can we make the world blow up we can make it BLOW BLOW BLOW UP.

The design of a warhead will not affect negotiations with Iran. Both the old-design warhead and the new ones would work equally appropriately over Tehran. The advantage of the new ones are their maintainability in the silos or storage, which is really not a factor in negotiations.
There might be a small PR advantage, in that we're sending a message to the Iranians and others that we're committed to our nuclear arsenal long-term. Retaliation will be swift and sure, should they do something stupid. But in actuality the old warheads would avenge Iranian foolishness just as well as the new ones.

Bad, bad thing my friend. We are imposing moral rules on other nations to stop with their nuclear enrichment programs, while on the other hand we are openly violating those same rules by pursuing to produce a more destructive nuclear warhead.
It's no wonder why the rest of the world view the U.S. with contempt and lost its credibility in all matters of foreign policies.
It's no different than imagining Moses giving the Ten Commandments for his people to follow, but exempting himself and disobeying those same commandments.
Or could it be a deliberate action on the part of the Bush administration to have this fact known to the Iranians, so that the Iranians wouldn't even think about negotiating with the U.S. on the Iranian nuclear enrichment issue?. The Iranians will then continue with their enrichment program, knowing that the U.S. is developing a new nuclear warhead design. The Bush administration can then declare that Iran refused to stop its nuclear ambitions, then use that as a pretext to attack Iran?.

It will have ZERO effect since they already know we have approximately 15,000 nuclear weapons, including long range ballistic missile, submarine launched, air lauched, and ground launcher based. We can already glass them over a bunch ....the new weapon just lets us have to use less of them.....

It will be very difficult for the parties to talk to each other while they're separated by several feet of glass.
