I feel really insecure with my figure. I am tall, I am slender, except for my butt and my big (but firm) legs, they make me feel really awkward, and it feels like guys are only looking at my butt. I wear not too baggy but loose shirts and pants, so it doesn't draw too much attention to my odd shape figure. What can I do?

I am pretty flat chested, but I have ribbs that stick out so my stomach isn't flat, but is is not fat. And my hips are wide. I have no flabs though, and my stomache doesn't hang over either.

To Mark:
What does band have to do with anything I said?
Band is the life, so get over yourself, no guy is worth ditching something you love for, and as for guys not liking band girls, that is so not true.

Perhaps I should have also mentioned that I am sort of a tom boy.

Thank you, all of you were very nice and helpful except for Mark.

For your information Mark, I never said that guys don't talk to me. I don't like you very much, but I want hold it against you too much, you are probably a teenager, and all teenage guys act like jerks, they are so immature. I like older guys, not children.

try wearing shirts that fall halfway down your butt. so they're not covering it, and so they're not sitting above it. you could also try to enhance your upper body by using weights, then cardio to tone down the butt. then might balance out, and if it means you're a little curvier up top and around the abs, so what? curves are gorgeous

I know how you feel, my body type is similar to yours. A smaller upper body and a larger lower body. The way to feel better about your body and self-image is to accentuate your good characteristics and downplay the ones that you feel uncomfortable with. With clothes wear lighter, brighter colours on top and darker ones on the bottom. Since you are smaller up top you can wear tight tops and boob-tubes always make your chest look a little better. Pants that are tight and bootleg (never skinny) will make your legs look longer and slimmer. Black pants always look good!

You may even want to do some cardio exercise like running or jogging, that will slim you down fast. If you go to the gym do some upper body weight lifting so that you can get a bit bigger up top, that will make your muscels toned and even your body shape out.

As for your self-image, everybody has different body shapes and that's what makes us beautiful and unique. I'm sure some girls would die to have a bigger bum and hips! Also, every guy likes something different and most don't look at your body like you do (they don't analyse all the bad things). They look at you as a package, and they probably see your "big bottom" as a fine looking ***.

your body sounds like mine. I used to hate it. But i love it. I don't have ribs sticking out though. I used to have that about 3 years ago. I am skinny, but i wear bigger jeans size than my friends. I love how the jeans fit perfectly around my behind. It kind of gives you this curve. You should wear some perfectly fit jeans. It doesn't just bring out your butt. With that. you can see a nice shape to your body. For clothing, you can always wear non cleavage showing ones. Nice t shirts, tanks, =). Maybe change your style to see what looks best on you. dont feel insecure! I'm am sure girls envy your skinny body and a nice behind. =)

Howdy! Have you tried a dark pair of bootcut jeans with a nice blazer? I love dressing up jeans with a corset and pinstripe blazer and heels. The blazer would cover your rear/ Or a nice kimono top would be trendy with fitted pants. The key is, if you where a large flowing top, wear fitted pants! If you dress in all over baggy clothing you are doing nothing for your figure! Find you some flattering jeans and show off your curves...not hide them.

Yes, be happy with the figure you've got! Do you know there are actual websites to help make it larger? If you're still unhappy try out the fitness tips below. Also Oprah had a show on this, so check out that as well. If you're wearing jeans make it a uniform blue, with no studs etc. to accentuate the pockets.

Be happy , I have a large rump and small frame, If it bothers you try to wear fitted not tight pants and shirts that are long or can be layered to distract from the rear.
