It can be if it was caused by a virus or a bacteria. Keep the infected person/s away from others. Use good hand washing policies. Always cover mouths when coughing or sneezing. Only use antibiotics if the infection is caused by bacteria. Wash linens after the infection clears to make sure it doesn't come back. Good luck.

Bronchitis is a symptom, not a disease.

Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial tubes in the chest and throat. It can be caused by a large number of diseases. Some of them are contagious, colds, flu, viruses or bacterial infections. Some can be caused by exposure to lots of chemicals and molds, which are not contagious. Som can be diseases of the lungs and breathing that are not contagious. You need to check with a doctor to determine which it is.

Yes. If its viral is can be spread by cells that come out with your cough or sneeze spray (both of which can cover 25 feet or more). Bacterial is a little bit more difficult and requires a little bit closer cough or kiss or something like that where the bacteria can spead from throat to throat. I would also stay away from the little ones for a day or so until you feel a bit better.

I just wanted to add this cut and paste:

The best way to avoid acute bronchitis is to wash your hands frequently and thoroughly, to sleep appropriately, and to drink lots of fluids. Acute bronchitis is most commonly caused by viruses or bacteria, which spread via coughing droplets in the air and/or from touching contaminated surfaces, so washing hands will help reduce this transmission of it. Chronic bronchitis is often preventable. The main action to reduce your risk is to eliminate exposure to cigarette smoke and other environmentally hazardous fumes. Smokers in the early stages of chronic bronchitis can change and improve the course of the disease by quitting smoking. Avoiding environmental hazards, such as car fumes, second-hand smoke, and air pollutants from factories and other sources, will also help reduce the chance of Chronic bronchitis.

I think that would depend on whether it was caused from a bacterial infection or a viral infection.
