Thanks.

Usually the entire filling has to be taken out. But as far as how easy or hard it is depends on how big the original filling is and how much decay is on that tooth. A small amalgam (silver filling) can be done in as little as 20 minutes, but a large filling can take a significant amount of time. If there is a lot of tooth structure loss you might need to have a crown. See if you can see your tooth in the mirror and see how much original tooth is left. If there is more than 3/4 of tooth left it is more likely to be quick and easy. I say that, but know this, there are always complications. Everyone has different anatomy and complications can occur at anytime. Hope this helps.

It doesn't sound like a big problem. They will have to remove what is left of the filling and replace it. You cant replace only part of the filling. But if the nerve is exposed, you will need a root canal. I doubt that is the case because you don't have pain. Get it fixed now, or you will probably end up needing the root canal.

The only thing you can do is go to the drug store and get a tooth patch kit, you should be able to find them in the toothpaste, etc. isle. In the kit I have purchases has a vial to put a tooth in that gets knocked out and a putty like stuff to put in the hole when you lose a filling, but don't fool yourself, you will have to go to the dentist to get it replaced and they have many numbing agents now that you won't feel any pain. They even have numbing agents to use on the gum so you won't feel the novicane. So don't put it off, use the kit until you can get to the dentist but get it taken care of before infection sets in and distorys your gum and nerve endings in the tooth.

Good luck.

Chances are if this happened a while a go, the bacteria could be bad. Yup they have to take filling out and start over.Dont let it go or you may have to get a root canal(not good)

It won't harm something to fill it with top rate now. intense compression engines require top rate gasoline yet decrease grade gasoline will in basic terms harm your overall performance and might reason knocking. As you upload top rate on your popular gasoline you're effectively elevating the octane score to someplace between the two gasoline varieties. in basic terms shop including top rate from now out. in case you probably did not have any problems you likely can run on popular gasoline without subject concerns besides.

Seeing that it is a couple of years old I doubt it will be easy, But most likely you will have to have a root canal, just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean that it isn't infected or that the decay isn't to the nerve

They may just fill it with a porcelain cap if it's still in good condition. If not, or if it's infected. Say goodbye to the filling and potentially goodbye to the tooth.
Hang in there.
