Its a toss-up. Christianity and Islam have hurt the world the most with Judaism in a close third (and bearing the responsibility for spawning the first two). Other religions don't fight for belief, they accept and tolerate. These three religions have long bloody histories and have caused wars in and of themselves. These religions have factions that fight amongst themselves about who is better and more right. If only we could have stopped that ruddy snake from getting Adam and Eve thrown out of the Garden and into our world (we all arrived on the sixth day, not the eighth) things might have been different.

A religion that preached no war would help. But their is no such recognized religion that does that. Only one small group that no one would accept.
So I guess all religion would fit into the category.
One thing I found interesting was the history book that said the major achievements in the USA from the invention of the car to the airplane to the cotton gin was because of freedom of thought and religion. The other countries spent so much time trying to control the public and squelching any creative thought no inventions were possible.

You can't really pin this down and say that it's one religion over another. It's the fact that all of the religions have trouble getting along that cripples this world. It has been this way from the beginning of time and will be this way probably until the end if we don't just learn to get along and realize that we all have to share this earth that God gave us.

it is not religions that handicap peace, it is human kind. Almost all religions order peace and respect, it is humans who object to these orders and insist on creating useless issues because of their hunger for power, money and pride.

A religion in and of itself can do nothing. Perhaps you mean the followers of which religion. Of course that puts a different spin on your question and doesn't allow you a broad stroke with which to make blanket statements in regards to one religion or another.

Well, in the U.S....the Christians that came here, did what they did to the original inhabitants, forced others onto boats and into slavery... Just think how nice it could have been had they acted like proper guests in this land and became good neighbors of the people already here instead of taking over and trying to force their religion on people in order to "civilize" them...in a non civil manner...

Most religions have nothing to do with this world. I believe you would want to ask this in Government and Politics section.
