For me, I'm still new at this, but I was shocked when we have come across people who tell you they're going to Hell/and that they want nothing to do with Jesus. I was also surprised we came across a guy who said he was wiccan. Thanks.

Eri: I'm not shocked they 'didn't think the way I did". I was surprised they don't want to know about Jesus.

Amen, RB, you lead someone to the Lord. I think that's wonderful. Its the best part of witnessing when someone accepts Jesus.

This is sad. They think that Satan will reward them, but he is the father of lies.

What has surprised me is that how easy it is at times to lead people to the Lord. I was in a nursing home to see my aunt, and I was talking to her room mate. I asked if I could pray for her, and she said yes. I asked if she knew Jesus, and asked her if she would like to. She said yes! It was done. I never did see her alive again.

Imagine this for a moment:
What if you had 1000 cable TV channels all saying that they are educational channels, but 999 were crazy channels having nothing at all to do with education and 1 true, educational channel AND being educated, you could easily see which channel was the correct one? You go out into a group of uneducated people, all with access to these channels and you tell them which is the correct channel to watch. As an educated person, you try to explain to them why that one correct channel is the right one, but to them, you simply appear as one of the other 999 channels. How do you get them educated?

Silly example? Maybe, but that is the most surprising thing I find. I do not think it is such a crazy example either. Look at what is on TV at any given time. Surely more than 99.9% of it is worthless and less than 0.1% is telling you about the Word of God...even less the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Is it the same here, or on the Internet? No, it is even worse. What about other areas of life? The library maybe? What about our schools? At work?

I know that people should know what the truth is, I know that they can know if they just ____ or just ____, but I also know that they will not think about testing it out or go to God and that you have to convince them to do it.

That is the first thing which surprises me the most, all the snake-oil salepeople surrounding the one person trying to give away the true vaccine to cure people from a disease known as death caused by sin.

The second thing that surprises me the most is, where are all the witnesses? Going door-to-door is nothing compared to living a good Christian life and for this to be known throughout the land. Where are these people? They should be our heros, our leaders, our teachers, our parents; they are the ones everyone should be looking up to and trying to mimic. Where are they? They are all missing, they are all gone, where did they go?

You really need to get out, girl! I mean seriously!

I know... I was once just like you - you're like a deer in the headlights...

Have you ever, ever considered that your little glass world is nothing but air? Rose colored glasses? A cultural delusion?

You won't even watch a documentary that your very religion hinges on because of .... what!?! You just aren;t interested in what the truth might be are you?

You are only interested in YOUR truth. Man, oh man, where do i begin... Look, a lot of us have escaped CHristianity, you can too... It ain;t easy, but once you begin to see that there are 5 billion people who think that Christianity is ridiculous and literally un-believable AND WHY THEY THINK THAT - you may have a fighting chance.

You think you've got it all together, huh? You don't know anything...

Email me when you're ready to be intellectually honest and bold and courageous about why you really believe what you believe!

What has suprised me most is what I learned. I was involved in a retreat game on year where everyone had a one or two word purpose. I was a begger with no shoes. Everyone in the "City" became a Christian except me and every time someone came to witness to me I said, I have no shoes.....finally the last person I said that to, took of his shoes, put them on me, and then I was willing to listen to what he had to say.

A couple years ago something similar happened to a friend of mine. He was helping someone at our church's yearly outreach and the fellow couldn't find shoes but my friend's were the right size so he gave this fellow his shoes and went barefoot the rest of the day.

Well I have the best success sharing Christ with those I have shown first that I care about them....not too good at cold contact type of witnessing, but yes...it is surprising what you find...and it always amazes me how many people know nothing about God.

I am finding this answers site as a great way to share Christ with those who know nothing about Him.

So God gives us opportunities in many different ways...and He will show us who to talk to.

A couple of times I have been confronted, just out of the blue, by someone....one guy just walked up to me and said..."so what do you think about God".....he was really searching...so it pays to know your scripture so you are ready....

Remember that your job is just to share Christ....then it is the Holy Spirit Who works to draw them.....you have no idea what they might recall later after you have left.....or who may follow up later with that same person.

My surprise when witnessing downtown at the cop shop, was that the lineup had such a broad range of people. And that they could not see me point to number 2.

You know I am not one to go out and witness to strangers. I just can't bring myself to do that. That is why I support a world wide ministry that takes the Word of God to many other countries. I find that if I befriend someone usually I get a chance to speak about Jesus.

You were shocked to meet people who didn't think exactly the way you do? What, did you grow up in a hole or something?

EDIT: That's exactly what I meant. I don't want to hear about Jesus, especially not from someone on the street. I don't think the way you do - I'm not superstitous or religious or illogical. There are a lot of people out there who don't give a damn about your religion, and you shouldn't let that surprise you.

May I ask why it would surprise you to run across someone who is Wiccan? It is one of the fastest growing religions in America.

I myself am a Pagan, but would love to hear what you have to say if you would like to email me feel free.

Believe it or not, this crazy Q&A thing is a channel of communication used for witnessing. It is not our job to judge. Can't save everyone.
