you accept Yeshua as the true Messiah?? I have heard this, and wonder. I am Jewish heritage, but was not raised in a Torah obsevant home, but came to accept Yeshua as Messiah as an adult, through my own studies and the Holy Spirit of God changed me when I really truelly repented; and I do 100% believe Yeshua is the Messiah- I have been studying the Torah, and asked many questions to a former Rabbi that accepted Yeshua, but I am still confused as to why Jews do not believe Yeshua is the Messiah. So,I guess this is 2 questions..ok..3- do you not believe the testaments? Shalom!

J.P. Thankyou, Im looking it up right now...
Rachel, I had a real question, and don't appreciate your abrasive attitude and inconsiderate narrow minded opinionated stereotyping of me, I AM a human being too, and do not need your rude comments, you hateful spineless girl. You didn't even answer the question.

1) It depends on the level of observance in the family. Secular Jews may not care while Orthodox will say Kaddish and be done with you, and rightly so.

2) J*sus did not fulfill the prophesies outlined in the Tanakh before he died. It just didn't happen. So he is not messiah. Any questions, feel free to email me. If not, check out these links:

3. What testaments? There is only one testament. The New Testament is not valid to Judaism. We have the Tanakh and the Talmud. Anything besides Judaism is not for us. So to answer your question, no, I don't believe in the New Testament, only the Tanakh and the Talmud.

Messianics are not recognized as Jews by any branch of Jewish authority, instead they are apostates. We may have our differences in our Jewishness, but on J*sus we all agree on.

I don't think you'd be considered dead by your family.. you'd just be an apostate Jew.

As to the question: why don't Jews believe "Yeshua" is the messiah, the answer is quite simple: he failed to fulfill any messianic prophecies. Oh, some Christians like to produce a list of "300 prophecies," but most items on that list either weren't prophecies, period, or weren't messianic prophecies at all.

First of all, we have to know what the "Jewish prophecies" are in regards to "messianic prophecies"

These are:

1. Descendant of David - (Jeremiah 23:5) (there are more regarding this one), note, must also be a descendant of Solomon (1 Chronicles 22:9), but can not be a descendant of Jeconiah (Jeremiah 22:30 This is established only through the biological father (for line/tribe) Numbers 36 (Tribal lineage), Genesis 49:10, 1 Kings, 11:4, 1 Chronicles 17:11-19 (Kingship lineage), Exodus 28:4, 29:9-30, 30:30, and 40:15 (Priesthood lineage)

2. Preceded by Elijah - Malachi 3:23-24

3. World Peace - Isaiah 2:4, Exekiel 39:9

4. Universal Knowledge of G-d - Isaiah 11:9, Jeremiah 31:33, Zechariah 8:23, 14:9, 14:16

5. Building of the Third Temple - Ezekiel 37:26-28 (See also Ezekiel 40-48, Isaiah 33:20)

6. Death Will Cease - Isaiah 25:8

7. Resurrection of the Dead - Isaiah 26:19, Daniel 12:2, Ezekiel 37:12-13

8. Ingathering of Israel - Isaiah 43:5-6 (See also Jeremiah 19:15, 23:3, Isaiah 11:12, Zechariah 10:6, Ezekiel 37:21-22)

9. The Nations Will Help the Jews Materially - Isaiah 60:5, 60:10-12, 61:6

10. Eternal Joy and Gladness Will Characterize the jewihs Nation - Isaiah 51:11

11. The Jews Will Be Sought For Spiritual Guidance - Zechariah 8:23

12. All Weapons Of War Will Be Destroyed - Ezekiel 39:9

13. The Enemy Dead Will Be Buried - Ezekiel 39:12

14. The Egyptian River Will Run Dry - Isaiah 11:15

15. Trees Will Yield New Fruit Monthly in Israel - Ezekiel 47:12

16. Each Tribe of Israel Will Receive It's Inheritance - Ezekiel 47:13-14

17. All Warfare Will Cease - Isaiah 2:4

To quote an online friend, "When we carefully consider that none of this has occurred, we can be assured that although many thousands of individuals have claimed to be the messiah throughout the centuries, Jesus included, none of them is. Moreover, when we ponder whether Jesus is the messiah, it is obvious that the very opposite occurred immediately after the Christian movement began; that is; During the first century the Romans slaughtered many thousands of Jews, the Jewish people were exiled from their land, the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed, the knowledge of Torah and its observance decreaed throughout the Roman Empire. Clearly, there is no relationship between what the Hebrew Scriptures say about the messiah and what Christianity teaches about Jesus."

Also, we know that the messiah will be an actual king, ruling in Israel, and sitting on the actual throne in Jerusalem. And that there will be no dispute as to whether or not this Jewish male is the messiah or not. (Jeremiah 23:5-6, and Isaiah 42:1-4)

To sum this all up, Jesus didn't do the job, (nor was he qualified for the job in the first place), he wasn't the one.

No you dont have to be dead to accept jesus.I am a conservadox jew and believe that jesus exist but was a wise teacher.I believe in the old testtement.I was raised in a reform home but later accepted conservadox judaism. But i have a jesus observant jew.And she observed torah for a year and in her lifetime read full the torah two types. And as she read the talmud twice as well she found out over the summer that if she puts two and two together jews really do observe jesus but he is in the background of the talmud. But there are alot of jews for jesus organizations.

You are a Christian, so of course you accept Jesus as the Messiah. I am a Jew, so I am waiting for the Messiah.

in the extremely orthodox communities there is a definite risk of being shunned by your family if you convert to christianity. outside of the extremely orthodox, all families are different and while surely there are some parents who might completely deny their children if they converted to christianity, most would not. in any case, most jews would never even consider converting to christianity, of all religions, because i am sorry to say that religion is seen as particularly taboo in the jewish community. there is no question that the reaction to a person who converts to say, buddhism, would usually be far tamer than the reaction to a convert to christianity.

What was there for you to repent of?

That Eve and Adam ate some fruit?

You really feel resposible for the imagined ramblings of long dead desert wanderers? Really?

It depends on the Jew. Some are very abrasive. I remember a Hassidic Jew who spit in my friend's face because he (also a Jew) was a Christian. Other Jews were more mellow about it.
